As a cyclist, I obviously like TDF. The World Cup is loads of fun due to it only coming around every four years. Maybe this year's TdF will have some new contenders in the top 5.

World Cup is infinitely more interesting than a bike race.

since my kids were born, I watch a lot more soccer than any other sport including football as it's on early in the morning. I enjoy both the world cup and tour but the world cup is my favorite event in sports outside of the summer olympics.

Tour de France shows a lot of aerial shots of beautiful French scenery though.
If this is the highlight of watching a sporting event, that says a lot about that event.

It's like women's beach volleyball, only for non-heterosexual people.

I stream the TDF in the morning, world cup in the afternoon.

Easily the Tour. You don't have to sit there an watch all 4 hours of it (even the broadcast skips the first hour), here's the way to do it: sleep in, grab a cup of coffee maybe a cheese danish, then turn it on for the last hour or so.
Dspending on the stage, you get the drama of the peloton catching the breakaway, a sprint finish, a mountain climb that splinters the field, etc. Two of my favorite moments in all of sports are (1) an altitude finish where a GC contender cracks while another rides away into yellow and (2) a downhill where a rider takes all kinds of risks to make up time.

I'm gonna pick the World Cup, but both are awesome.
Honestly, I get a little bored with the same 3 sports here.
All my white friends talk baseball and football.
All my black friends talk basketball and football.
Hockey only during playoffs.
That's all you hear news about also.

Definitely the Tour.
- Changing, beautiful scenery
- Occasional crashes
And this is from someone who hates cyclists.
Soccer is just beyond gay. Nothing happens. It’s just a random amoeba that moves up and down the field, then ends in a tie. The players are over-theatrical floppers. The sport is beloved by post-male neutered euros. Just awful in every way. Antithetical to American values.

Watching someone push their body to the limit for weeks. Watching someone climb a mountain on a bike after breaking away from every other elite rider in the world and seeing if they can hold on or crack before the finish line. Watching them decend at 40 mph, 50 mph, or even higher on a 16 lb. bicycle through switchbacks. Watching them sprint to the line after an event where 99% of the world would have given up within the 1st hour of the first day.
All of that just may be infinitely more interesting than watching some dude kick a ball.....at least to some people.
I love how wearing "tights" is ghey in cycling, but not in football, wrestling, etc.. I love how anything can be more exciting than watching some dude simply "xyz". Every sport is dumb as shite when you break it down like that.

Tour de France
Good background noise and picture to just have on. Besides that it is very boring.

There are a bunch of idiots in this thread.
Obviously the World Cup is the most interesting and entertaining, but cyclists are insane and I can appreciate the immense stress they put on their bodies.

World Cup.
The Tour is in the same place and happens every year.
