re: Is there any HR people in here, particularly in O&G? - KG6 on 3/19/18 at 7:03 pm
My post wasn't meant to be super negative. It's just not as simple as applying. Unless you are straight out of school and have the good grades and internshios. It usually takes some connections through working with people or knowing someone once you've been in the industry. And right now, even th...

re: 9 year old shoots and kills sister over video game controller - KG6 on 3/19/18 at 1:37 pm
And not every 9 year old develops the same. No one in here has enough information to determine the mental capacity of that boy
Not only that, but any person who says they fully understood the consequences of their 9 year old self's actions is a liar or an idiot. Don't get me wrong...Jump to Post - View Topic - Replies (0)

re: 9 year old shoots and kills sister over video game controller - KG6 on 3/19/18 at 12:22 pm
When I read this earlier, they didn't state if she had died or not...condition was unknown. What does a family do in this situation? Obviously terrible to have a child die, but what if your young child did it on purpose? How do you deal with that? How do you look at your own 9 year old who knows...Jump to Post - View Topic - Replies (0)
re: Song that made you realize there was more than MTV - KG6 on 3/19/18 at 11:39 am
Had a cousin 6 years older than me who lived next door. He'd come back from college and use my computer to download songs. Ended up with stuff like Bright Eyes, Ryan Adams/Whiskeytown, Uncle Tupelo/Wilco/Son Volt. I was never a huge pop music listener, but that broadened me past Creed type stuff th...
How the frick do you sleep 18.5 hrs? Did you take something?
I've basically slept over 24 hours before (would wake up to piss and eat something). I definitely took something though......it was brown and came measured in 5ths. ...Jump to Post - View Topic - Replies (0)
re: Electronic drums question for those with experience - KG6 on 3/19/18 at 10:59 am
Now you guys have me looking into real kits . I played around on a few electronic sets again and it's certainly a viable alternative, but it just isn't the same. The kick and snare aren't terrible, but the cymbals and hi-hat just don't feel right to me. I'm sure I'd get used to it and the ni...

re: Apple Watch folk, what’s your daily “move” goal at? - KG6 on 3/19/18 at 10:29 am
14,000 steps
I hate this concept. I have a Garmin 920xt. I typically only wear it during workouts. Every time it updates, it turns on the "fitness tracker" feature. I've gotten too lazy to shut it off. I can go run 10 miles and if I forget the watch on for an hour or so, it'll...

re: A Year in Hotels - Tipping the Housekeepers - KG6 on 3/19/18 at 9:38 am
Yeah, I enjoy staying in hotels for work just for a change of pace. Usually much closer to the office I'll be working out of and just get some good sleep. But after a week, I'm ready to get out. I'd lose my mind for a whole year. And I'll tip if I make a mess. But I typically keep the room...Jump to Post - View Topic - Replies (0)
re: In need of some good Hawaiian shirts. - KG6 on 3/19/18 at 9:16 am
Patagonia's Pataloha shirts.
Got a few of these for a trip to the keys last year. I wear them all the time in the summer now. Comfortable and casual, but not as loud as a lot of actual Hawaiian shirts. A lot of them are ugly as sin, but some go well with khaki shorts. ...Jump to Post - View Topic - Replies (0)

re: How does one become a TV/Radio shyster attorney? - KG6 on 3/19/18 at 5:34 am
You have to make it where it only takes one call. Before the shysters, it literally used to take like 3 calls. But then he came around and it was one call, that's all. ...Jump to Post - View Topic - Replies (0)

re: Quitting Soda - KG6 on 3/18/18 at 4:30 pm
I gave up diet coke for lent. Had a huge weekend training (2 mile swim Friday, 15 mile run yesterday, 103 mile bike ride today). Each day I get home worn out craving crappy food. I have fallen off the soda wagon hard. Been so good about it until this weekend. ...

re: Ski/Chair lift failure in the country of Georgia - KG6 on 3/16/18 at 1:18 pm
