As tragic and sad as this young Officers death is, it should have never happened for several reasons.

Escorts for funeral processions are an outdated practice that take massive unnecessary risk. Law enforcement leadership needs to outlaw the practice.

I am sure it’s financially lucrative to these brave motor men, but we can’t let them continue to kill themselves for a few extra coins in their pockets.

A man will sacrifice his happiness for his family. A women will sacrifice her family for her happiness.
This is the cost of doing business for everyone involved.

I voted for this.

Good job.
Resisting an officer would be fast-tracked through the court system, with bench trial held immediately.

If someone is found guilty of resisting a lawful arrest or lawful detainment, the sentence would include a mandatory minimum of six months in jail—served in full, without suspension, parole, or good-time reductions.

Clear, certain consequences would dramatically reduce hostile encounters and assaults on law enforcement. When accountability is swift and consistent, respect for lawful authority increases and unnecessary use-of-force incidents decline.

Unfortunately, serious proposals like this are often overshadowed by political narratives that prioritize division over solutions.
He’s not NEARLY as popular as he thinks he is.

Go sit down kid, the adults are speaking.

As a Baton Rouge cop, I always recommend friends and family park at the first turn on River Road and State Capitol Drive.

You’ll catch the parade shortly after it starts. Toward the end of the route, delays can happen due to breakdowns, slow-moving floats, or other issues.

There’s free parking on River Road (west side) and in lots near the Capitol Annex, Pentagon Barracks, and Claiborne Building.

When it’s over, head north on River Road to Chippewa and jump on I-110—you’ll usually clear out with very little traffic.

This is especially ideal for folks coming from Central, Zachary, or North Baton Rouge.

Stay safe. We look forward to seeing you out there.

Imagine the difficulty prosecutors face when convening a jury for a criminal trial in East Baton Rouge.

The same community that is always the first to scream they want police accountability has to be willing to support it unilaterally, even if the defendant looks like they do.
I long for a world where people put as much of an emphasis upon the observance of the law as they do upon its enforcement.

Great job to the men and women that were willing to risk their lives and do their part to hold this resisting criminal accountable.

He is a regular presence at Baton Rouge City Council meetings and the state legislature, advocating for resources for North Baton Rouge and other underserved communities. During the Great Flood of 2016, Cleve and his friends heroically saved the lives of countless residents in the Park Forest and Monticello areas by rescuing people from their flooded homes and transporting them to shelters.

A strong advocate for increased healthcare access in North Baton Rouge, Cleve played a pivotal role in the eventual opening of an Emergency Room in the area. He has been a vocal advocate for justice, particularly in the aftermath of Alton Sterling's tragic death at the hands of the Baton Rouge Police Department.

Recently, he founded the Baton Rouge Youth Aviation Experience, designed to educate students about career opportunities in the aviation industry. This program provides students with opportunities to participate in aviation-related conferences nationwide, offering mentoring sessions, career exposure and networking opportunities with industry professionals. Cleve raises funds to cover all program costs, ensuring there are no out-of-pocket expenses for participating students.

This did not age well, but no one is surprised. You can only fake it for so long. We are who we are in this world.

Careful what you wish for, you just might get it.

Don’t cry foul now that you lost the fight you so desperately wanted.
You will never convince that these people aren’t all losers in life, social outcast, who lack anything remotely redeeming worth pursuing.

Save your breath for the real solutions and don’t waste your energy on clueless trolls with no perspective.

You don’t fix a sixty-year problem over night.

Blaming others solves nothing and is nothing more than continued political theatre.

Coach has shown more progress and willingness to take bold steps to solve problems in his first year than this City has seen in my lifetime. I trust him and believe he will continue to reduce crime, blight, and homelessness in Baton Rouge.

The gall and nerve of these people never cease to amaze me.

Last year, voters were told sufficient service could be provided on 8.3 mills. The voters did not approve the renewal.

Less than two months later, they’re back asking us to approve 9.5 mills in funding.

Two words: tone deaf.

An easy no for me.
It will be the cause of death for social media and it will force humanity to actually interact again.

Embrace this necessary evil.
95% are gone by Mardi Gras.

I always go out of my way to encourage them and make them feel welcome, but sadly most people just don’t want it bad enough to make these habits a lifestyle choice.

I ask most of them to answer two questions to themselves: How bad do you want it? What are you willing to give up?

Life is nothing more than a series of trade offs. Everyone is trying to find the right balance that will make them content. I wish them all the best.

I get up and do a bunch of stuff early then get a nap around 2 pm

This.

Nap usually only last 45 minutes to an hour.

In bed by 8pm most days.

Consistency is the secret sauce. Going to bed and waking at the same time seven days a week is a cheat code.

You sound jealous and insecure.

Life is nothing but a series of trade offs. Who the frick are you to decide if someone else is willing to trade off their time and effort for physical results and aesthetic superiority? Heaven forbid someone wants to reach their full potential during the short time they are here on earth.

Post less.

The woke years.

The American Police Officer was demonized and left to defend for his own as a result of the sins of long past transgressions and modern day false narratives.

We learned the time old tale: This too shall pass.

My mom. That’s it.

Wife and I have everything we could possibly ever want or need. If we want it during the year, we buy it for ourselves.

Christmas is for giving, to kids, with no expectation of anything being given back.

Gift giving with adults always feels transactional. I give you $100 gift, you give me a $100 gift. It never made sense to me.
