2017 - Dunkirk
Before that I couldn't tell you. But we're not gonna need movie theaters when AI allows us to create an infinite amount of full length movies by just entering a few prompts.
And I'm one SVS sub away from elite home theater so don't need the theater.

Haven’t been to a theater in nearly 8 years or more.

Whenever the Minecraft movie came out. Our son likes going to the popular kids movies, and I enjoy the recliners and beer at our local theater.

I saw Friendship when it came out. I usually go to Alamo Drafthouse. The theaters are a bit smaller and the one I frequent doesn’t tolerate texters. Honestly, I don’t go often, but I haven’t seen screens light up on phones in ages.
That said…the thing keeping me away from theaters is lack of movies that I find myself wanting to watch. I’m not a Disney adult, so the reboots and remakes don’t appeal to me. I’m not a Marvel person, so the regurgitation of the same plots doesn’t appeal to me. It seems like people in Hollywood don’t want to be creative anymore. Everything is a sequel, prequel, or remake.

About two years ago I stopped in Chattanooga to see the Iron Claw at a theater next door to a truck stop - friend of mine was the ref in a couple of the matches in the flick so I wanted to support his work and I really love wrestling bios like that.

Last was Top Gun Maverick because I was told it wad good/fun and there was no woke shite in it.
I want to be entertained and I don’t want to be lectured to about social justice. Leave that shite for political events, etc. Also don’t like how someones GOT TO BE GAY in everything.

I went with my father and son to see Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade for a special Father's Day showing this year at Movie Tavern. Prior to that, probably the last movie I saw at the theater was Toy Story 3 with the kids. Prior to that, it was probably The Simpsons Movie.

In the last few years: Downton Abbey with the wife; Top Gun with my grandson; Ford vs Ferrari with grandson and SIL.

Top Gun Maverick.
Prob the only time in 10 years I’ve been to a theatre only because I wanted to see it so bad. I stay away mostly because I don’t want to get in confrontations with ‘one of them’ who I say something to when they may feel disrespected when they’re on their cell phone on speaker.

It was either in 1917 or to see "1917", I don't remember which one. I'm into a movie database that has almost every movie made and gets new releases within a week of distribution. Going to a theater makes no sense.

One of my favorite things to do every couple months when i have a free Sunday is to go to the movie theater at cutiplace and enjoy a show and have drinks all by myself.
It’s extremely peaceful. I normally go to a movie that has been out for a couple weeks so there usually isn’t very many people in there
One of my most glorious memories when I drank. I still do it, just with coke, the soft drink.
I go with my dad often.

The last movie the wife and I went to was "Top Gun: Maverick" in 22 and I have no plans to ever go to another movie again.
The wife and her daughter went to see the Springsteen movie last weekend and they both hated it.
Hell, go to see a movie and it will run $50+ for 2 people, and that only includes tickets, 2 containers of popcorn and 2 sodas. I've got better things to spend money on than a 2 hr. movie.

Either 1917 or Star Wars Episode 9... don't remember which was last but the only two since moving to Tennessee 6 years ago.

I took my son and his friend to see Spider Man: No Way Home on a Sunday afternoon back in 2021. 3 tickets 2 Fountain Drinks and a tub of popcorn and they bent me over a GD barrel to the tune of ~$65 ?! And that was before 2022-24 inflation and for a matinee no less.
I don't think I'll ever go back. Used to love the theater too.
