re: What’s an overused saying that annoys you?

Isn’t Mary Ann an anti-gay slur that was used like literally 100+ years ago? I don’t think anybody uses that term anymore. People moved on to using the word fagg0t long ago.

There was one that used to annoy the shite out of me because of who said it. It was this dude at work who used to think he was funny.. And would say something and pause as if he was expecting the person to laugh. He was one of those people who had a knack for frustrating people. And he would always say "you know how you eat an elephant huh? One bite at a time".

But he said that shite in meetings, if he called you he would find away to throw it in there. People used to put him on speaker so everyone could hear him say it. One day someone kept track of how many times they heard him say it. At the end of the day it was 5 or 6 times. Not all in a conversation with him, but he was in a meeting with him and had to work with him for a few hours.

And it was more than him just saying it, he would do that pause thing as if people will laugh... And he was an avid fisher and very active in church.. No problem with being active in church, but don't come to work, get in a conversation then tell the people in the conversation what the bible said about.. over indulging, etc.. There was this one dude who could not be around him. The dude was a scheduler and the guy who could not be around him told the project managers of projects he worked on that he did not want him calling or coming ask where he was on a project and when did he think he would finish this or that.

He really didn't need to talk to everyone, but he would make his "weekly rounds". Some people would just make up shite.. Like if they would be finished that week, they would tell him they had two more weeks of work.. Supposedly in a meeting someone got on his arse telling him he was scheduling them more hours than they needed. But it annoys me even thinking about "you know how to eat an elephant? one bite at a time"

I get the ick everytime some younger person says something gives them the ick.

Also ‘vibes’. The younger generation’s default is blaming the vibes.

Annoying, i agree.. but not 1/100th as annoying as people who insist on making a (usually asinine) point and then saying or typing “PERIOD !!!”.. just tell us youre a low-IQ, absolute zero in life and be done with it .
