I applied to Nicholls, ULL and Tech because I was told it is a good idea to have a backup plan. If I had to end up picking one I think I decided I would go to Nicholls because I actually sort of liked the atmosphere there.

Baseball scholarship to La Tech. Almost went to Pensacola Jr. College (now Pensacola State College) on the Diamondbacks dime on a “draft and follow” scholarship, meaning the team would retain your rights for a full year and could sign you to a pro contract after your first year of juco. Kind of wish I would have gone that route. Pensacola was cool when I visited.

This was nearly a half century ago….

For degree #1 - Applied to NLU, LSU, LaTech, SWLA - Tech had the best scholarship offer(s) by far. Took it and graduated debt free….best decision ever.

My dream list was UVA, Texas, Penn, Yale, Wash U STL….economics were never going to let those choices materialize.

Tennessee and Texas were my top 2 for athletics.
Ended up staying closer to home.
