What colleges did you considered going to and where did you end up going?

MIT, Georgia Tech, Alabama.


Couldn’t afford MIT. Had full rides at Tech and Bama. While discussing with my dad, he jokingly and rhetorically asked, “Do you like girls? Go to UA, thank me later. You can always go to Tech for grad school.”

Went to Alabama. Thanked my dad for the fatherly advice.

For undergrad I applied to LSU and UL, and got into both. I went to UL because I was pre-pharmacy and I only planned on going to whatever school I went to for 2 years, and I could live at home for those 2 years and save money.

For grad school (didn’t end up going to pharmacy school) I only applied to Louisiana Tech and got in.

School of Hard Knocks

wanted to go to LSU all my life, but my senior year i had to make a business decision based on the amount of scholarship money i was being given by each institution and i had to take a good look at me as a person and be real with myself... i was determined to get into pharmacy school as soon as possible, and i came to the realization that i would probably be very distracted at LSU, with the sports, alcohol, women, etc...

so i chose Northwestern State, as we have family land up there, so i could live off campus, they gave me a ton of money, and it had all the extracurriculars, but just not to the same level, so i got the college experience, but didn't have option to really go overboard, like i would have at LSU, knowing myself...

and then from NSU, went to Xavier b/c my gf at the time lived in NOLA, and was unwilling to move to Monroe... sure enough, we broke up the week I actually moved to NOLA, but i ended up with the hottest chick in my pharmacy school class, so it's all good in the end

Sent my ACT scores to State, Ole Miss, USM, and USL(for shits and giggles). Got heavily recruited by all four. Was a huge Ole Miss fan growing up, I mean huge. Visited my junior year, 1988, and hated it although I didn't want to admit it, because my dream was to go to Ole Miss. Visited State the next week and loved it, although I didn't want to admit it. Ended up at State which was the best decision of my life, and I totally flipped allegiances.

Only applied to State for undergrad.

For MBA, applied at Duke, UNC, Florida, and UGA. Ended up at UNC.
And no I didn’t get into Duke.
