Louisiana AG Liz Murrill Fires Back At SEC Again In Latest LSU Court Filing

Louisiana Attorney General Liz Murrill filed another response in federal court Tuesday, once again calling for the SEC's lawsuit against LSU to be dismissed.
In her response, Murrill pushed back against the SEC's latest claims that LSU has lacked institutional control through its recruitment of former professional athletes.
Murrill called one of the conference's new allegations "demonstrably false" and argued that LSU has not violated SEC rules.
The filing also referenced LSU basketball coach Will Wade, who said on September 23 that the Tigers would follow the conference's eligibility requirements.
"We're going to abide by what the SEC tells us to abide by," Wade said.
Murrill argued that the SEC selectively used Wade's previous comments while ignoring his commitment to following conference rules.
The ongoing legal dispute began over LSU's pursuit of former professional athletes and has since expanded to include the basketball program.
Murrill continues to argue that the SEC has no grounds to pursue its lawsuit against LSU and is asking the federal court to dismiss the case.
