I’m so sorry. I had it in the mid-90’s, but the margins were taken in outpatient surgery and I was fine. No surprise, the only “sunscreen” we used was iodine and baby oil.

It is my biggest fear working on the boat everyday. I wear long sleeves and use sunscreen. Been doing this over 30 years. Makes me nervous.

Well genius, those people well south of you have more melanin therefore less risk than a pasty white boy whose ancestors originated in Europe. I don’t know why that is difficult to understand

The medical knowledge on this board is astounding lol yes, cancer cells can be extremely aggressive for example certain sarcomas can double in size in a very short amount of time. The assumption is that all cancers grow slowly. That is a poor assumption

I have battled skin cancer all my life. I’ve had 19 melanomas and I don’t even count all those other types of cancer. I go to my dermatologist every three months. So far so good. Between me and him we have caught them in the early stages.

When we were young kids and teenagers suntan lotion was more about getting a tan and not much about protection.
There was Hawaiian Tropic with like sunscreen 2, but many times we were using baby oil and sometimes mixing in iodine. We had no idea of long term skin damage.
