I’ve always wondered about this one

I give my Boxer Trazadone. I read that reggae helps, so added that last night and it seemed to help. My other dog is unfazed.

Just turned 65 today, but haven’t pushed the button yet. Will likely step away by the end of the year.
re: Anyone had a spouse go through chemo?

Saying a prayer for your brother. My husband was scheduled for CAR-T therapy in New Orleans but didn’t survive. :wah: They had to pause chemo to be able to harvest cells to be re-engineered, and the cancer blew up in just a couple of weeks. I think they have advanced the treatment now to where they can use donor cells. They also do outpatient CAR-T now, even here in Baton Rouge. In 2023, it had just started being an option in Louisiana-and only at Ochsner in New Orleans.

No, he treated here in Baton Rouge.

I think OM takes the lead in the first quarter, but that’s it. We’re ahead by halftime and win by 17.

Get through
He had such a great attitude and he actually had a complete response to chemo. Nothing showed on his PET scan, he was doing really well. Unfortunately, he relapsed a few months later and it was incredibly aggressive. The only way I got through it was my faith. God keeps showing up.

I know I have at least one brother in law who posts here, probably two.
Yep, High grade large B cell triple hit NHL. I would be so exhausted by the time a new round started. The only time I slept well was when we were in the hospital, because someone else was watching over him, too. Lol his room was usually near the heli-pad, and he would always joke that I was landing. Definitely stayed in helicopter-mode.

Yes, my husband had a very rare form of Non Hodgkins Lymphoma. His chemo was inpatient, 24 hours a day for 5 days every 21 days. Part of his regimen included steroids, and he never had huge problems with nausea. I think he actually gained weight after diagnosis. His worst days were 3 or 4 days after we got home from the hospital. He would become very, very weak. We set up the hall bedroom because it was actually closer to the bathroom than the master would have been. I wasn’t supposed to use the same bathroom for the a few days because the chemo was eliminated through urine and it’s toxic. It was so bad for a couple of days each round that he could only walk from the toilet to the foot of the bed, sit down to rest and then crawl to the other end. I wore a mask and tried to keep everything as sterile as possible. Then he would gradually regain his strength and was back to mowing the lawn in the last few days before the next round. When he bottomed out, one of the things that gave me peace was praying for him from head to toe. He was incredibly strong and healthy before cancer, rarely even took anything for a headache. Like others have stated, every regimen and patient can be completely different. You will meet some incredible people-oncology nurses are angels. If she’s having side effects, communicate that to your care team. Use MyChart and/or call them; you’ll quickly figure out which is quicker. Praying for y’all.

Even living in South Louisiana, we bought from Van Trow for decades. Our salesman retired, though.

I don’t think this is that big of a deal-but from the other things you’ve mentioned-there may be more going on here. Also, some people really go off the deep end with a cancer scare. Is she taking other meds she’s not telling you about? Anti-depressants can impact libido.

It makes me sad to see it. I’ll read someone is touring and think I’d love to see them, but after watching recent concert footage on YouTube-it’s a no. Even Stevie Nicks-no desire to see her in concert. Most of them are really dependent on background singers.

I think people have a lot of memories surrounding his music. I don’t think he’s fascinating, though.
re: Do you have life insurance? Who is the beneficiary?
Posted by Tiger in the Sticks on 6/6/26 at 6:54 pm to lsu xman
If the free coverage is a benefit at work, I would keep that second policy. You may decide to marry someone, and you don’t have to be old to be uninsurable. You can always set up a trust and name it as beneficiary. Whatever you do, never list a funeral home as a beneficiary.

Based on OM podcasts, Pete is the new Saban.

I didn’t, either. Probably wants the best circumstances for another run in case her son doesn’t enter the draft.

Not even close, and Dauphin Island is one of my favorite places. Alabama beaches have pretty sand and they’re convenient.
