My daughter’s K-8 school is doing the same. Blanket social media ban.

Wonder if Snapchat is included? That’s where they are getting in trouble

And for the posters mentioning Facebook, they aren’t interested…..that’s for boomers

Yeah, the way it’s worded it includes all of them. I’m not mad about it

This is not going to last. The first kid that gets suspended for having a facebook will sue and win. This is like a free money handout to whoever sues first

Private school + student behavior policy signed by the parent.

I think the defining YouTube and Twitch as social media might be a stretch.

My wife showed me the policy for my daughter’s school. It’s escalating punishment that doesn’t reset. I think the third time is expulsion

How is my wife’s son going to learn the family TikTok dance if he can’t get the links from my wife

Given his biological father is black, he’s just got a natural inclination to pick it up quicker. I think they have an extra muscle in their leg or something

No they can't. For instance, you can't have an all white catholic school now can you

There’s a gap the size of the Grand Canyon between racial discrimination and banning students from social media.

I don’t see how they would be able to govern this. Any of those kids could make an Oweo2 TD handle and no one would know.

If it’s anonymous, then that takes away a lot of the “issues” of social media.

Mine is too, and all the parents we know are completely on board with it.

I would bet it’s eventually going to be diocese wide.

Should be pretty interesting to see how they try and enforce this

Yes, it's absolutely necessary and right to try, but the push back is going to be of epic proportions.

You’re telling me that having a social media account isn’t the same as being part of a federally protected class?

That's the problem, the parents... or parent.. or grand parents are not doing their job.

A private company restricting users is quite different than a government organization restricting your speech.
