Code of conduct at private schools is 24/7, agreed and signed by the parents who pay for their kids to attend the school.
Parents care enough about their child's education and wellbeing in their formative years often times make sacrifices so that they can pay for private school. They will welcome this policy.

I guess I'm just old in my mid 30s, but I thought Roblox was a game

Buddy of mine said there’s an app popular among his daughter’s friends where you have to take a random pic of yourself when it pings you throughout the day. It’s sounds like a prime target for pedos.

Private school. They can have rules such as this. You are wrong.

I’m not saying I disagree with the spirit of it but there’s no getting that genie back in the bottle.
It’s a challenge for sure. Besides the fact that SM is turning every kid into a narcissistic retard, it’s also encouraging them to post more he most incriminating evidence against themselves at the absolute most irresponsible time in their lives. I’m so glad I never had to grow up with this shite.

It’s a trend that’s spreading around the country among private schools and it works

I think the school having a rule gives the parent more leverage. "All my friends have it", don't care and also bullshite.
Fair point.

I'll go look this up, thank you!

The parents are pushing back against the school
I think it’s mostly people who don’t have kids at the school that are crying about this. Sure there are some parents of kids that attend the school that are going to be upset, but any responsible parent is going to understand that this is a good thing.
It’s all over Facebook, “if I had kids there I’d pull them out”. Well, fortunately for you, you are too poor and stupid to have kids in private school

If it's during school hours, then, well, I'm surprised they would have been allowed to do those things during school hours in the first place.
If it's outside of school hours, it's a stupid thing for schools to regulate outside of school hours. I mean, what's next- that they establish some dress code that they have to follow outside of school hours? That they have to be asleep by some certain hour?

Schools are covering themselves legally from potential liability. It will not be monitored.
I suspect this is the situation. They will have the policy in place but will not go out of their way to search. If it is made obvious, online bullying, making posts that garner public attention...; then they have the rule in place to separate themselves and levy the punishment.
Where they will get in trouble is when they have inconsistent enforcement. Without seeing the policy, I am sure there is a clause that if any employee of the school becomes aware of the social media account, they will have a duty to report, and the punishment will need to be enforced. Once preferential treatment sets in in 1-2 years, they will most likely have to reverse course.

I bet every kid is given a Chromebook though.

There is already a code of conduct for outside of school hours.

If it’s anonymous, then that takes away a lot of the “issues” of social media.

The YouTube account will get interesting. We have a kid account on our YT login so they can watch the learn how to draw, Adel (not the singer) painting, tiny baker...
Also, our school will actually show videos on YouTube (stuff like Superbook) for that down time while waiting on carpool

And if your kid never posts videos of themselves on YouTube then no one will ever know that they have a YouTube account and all is good
If you have a social media profile and post nothing on it (no images, no comments, etc…), then you are never going to be “caught”, but that also is eliminating a lot of the issues with social media anyway.

No they aren't. This isnt about using those things at school, it is no social media period.

They are. The guidelines say no use of the Chromebook outside of the classroom.
