So he’s been ruled ineligible?

He’s out of eligibility, he hasn’t been “ruled ineligible.” As far as I know he’s appealing for a medical redshirt to get a 6th season of eligibility.

brian kelly was the type of coach we needed after O. someone to bring stability. it just didn't work out past year 1.

I’m willing to give him the benefit that the landscape of college football just changed so drastically after year one. He tried to adapt and couldn’t. I don’t give him any grace for phoning it in.

Aggies have been buying players for decades

I believe the story is Eric Dickerson showed up to campus at SMU in a Trans Am paid for by TAMU.

Who appointed the mostest loyal FW to be LSU’s head coach?

Much like Orgeron, he was the logical choice as the only coach on staff with HC experience.

That's when I was born, baw. It's been all downhill from there.

So it's your fault.

Thanks for letting us know where to place the blame.

I think someone thought that was a clever/joking way to say kill in a more politically correct sounding way.

I’ve assumed that it was created to avoid red flags in social media algorithms.

But to the OPs point, language is fluid and words have always changed meaning based on usage. And there a far more egregious examples than the ones he chose: utilize is now a replacement for use. Literally now has a secondary definition of figuratively.

especially with Kiffin, it’s what he does

I don't really get this narrative.

Yes, he bolted Tennessee. The justification can be made that he did so for USC, which was most likely his true dream job. At least at that time. But I definitely agree this is a strike against him.

He left FAU after 3 years to go to Ole Miss, a definite step up. Can't see how that's a problem for anyone.

And now he's left Ole Miss for LSU. That may or may not be considered a step up (we can be biased and feel that it is). But he was there for 6 years. A lot can, and has been made about the timing and it coming during their most successful year. The timing is unfortunate for Ole Miss, but professionally is he supposed to stay there another year or two just because they're having a good season?

He was fired by Oakland and USC. I just don't see where this label as a job hopper comes from. He's on his fifth school in 14 years as a head coach. Jon Sumrall is already moving on to school 3 in 4 years.

yes...reiner and the son had a huge fight at conan o'brien's christmas a day or two prior to the murders.

This leads me to believe Jason Bateman is the real culprit.
TAMU signed another coach to a mega extension before he actually won anything at their school. And he subsequently went out and almost lost it SCar and can’t beat Big Brother.

Stop making Sherrone the villain here

I guess he doesn't threaten to kill his wife (allegedly) or break into the other girl's house and threaten to kill her (allegedly) if Michigan "made this go away." But Michigan isn't to blame for any of this happening.

they want the 2nd round games on New Years.

Tying the playoffs to NYD is part of the problem with the schedule to begin with.

The guy who had Stevan Ridley, Jeremy Hill, Leonard Fournette, and Derrius Guice as stars at LSU. Great backups who became NFL role players like Spencer Ware. Guys who were great backups like Alfred Blue, Michael Ford, Kenny Hilliard, Terrence Magee, and Darrell Williams.

All of those guys played 10+ years ago. And I’m not even sure how influential Frank was in their development based on his timeline of 2010-2015. He would have overlapped with guys like Ridley, Fournette, and Guice for only one season.
I just saw a short of some guy who's partnered with the Birmingham Bowl say they had 7 teams decline an invite: Baylor, Temple, Auburn, FSU, UCF, Rutgers, and Kansas.

All 7 of those teams are 5-7. They got App State (also 5-7) and Georgia Southern (6-6). Two teams from the same conference that have already played each other.

We used to have teams at 5-7 petitioning for bowl eligibility in the event there weren't enough 6-6 teams to fill all the slots. Now we have 5-7 teams refusing bowl invites.

Safe to say the lower tier bowl games are a whole new level of irrelevant.

Good, competitive football is entertaining.

Two 5-7 teams with rosters diminished by opt outs playing in the Duke’s Mayo Bowl doesn’t usually qualify as “good” in my opinion. It may be competitive, but for all the wrong reasons.

O... BYU gets in as well?

Maybe. I’m not saying they should be in. I’m looking at it from the perspective I think the committee may take.
quote:

Bama won’t be let in. It cannot be justified, no way, no how.

I agree that the argument against Bama is stronger than the argument for, but the issue I see is that they were in before the game. Eliminating them after the game disincentivizes the SEC championship.

Head to head tiebreaker says otherwise

The tie breaker was necessary because they were co-champs. That’s how it works.

LSU hangs co-champion banners in the practice facility.
quote:

le Miss self proclaimed themselves 2003 SEC West champs too. Doesn’t make it legit

It wasn’t self proclaimed. They were co-champs of the West. It’s just that most teams don’t fly that flag in the stadium.
