People were misremembering this long before KT was born.

Keenan Thompson was born in 1978 so I'm not sure what you're getting at.

Most people "remember" Shazam as being released around the same time as the Shaq movie "Kazaam." Which came out in 1996.

o I researched it and Sinbad played a genie type character once on a TV skit called "All That."

Keenan Thompson had a recurring character that was an African exchange student “Ishboo.” I believe Sinbad had an appearance has his father, which aligns with a lot of the descriptions people have of their memory of Shazam.

it’s because if you cover your mouth, they can’t confirm what you’ve said…

Yup.

quote:

so they’re going to assume you’ve covered your mouth to say something racist or anti-gay, and issue red cards

Yes and no. They're telling you that if you cover your mouth and approach an opponent you're going to get a red card. They don't need to assume anything about what was said.

Player A says Player B used racial slurs. The league could use video to determine if what is accused lines up with the movement of Player B's lips, but Player B had deliberately covered his mouth to prevent that from happening.

The league can either assume Player A is telling the truth and punish Player B, or they can say there's no evidence and do nothing.

The league has chosen to instead just say to all players, "Don't cover your mouth." It may be a silly rule, but it's a pretty easy rule to follow.

that had sex 5,000 times with 100 partners....does it really matter?

What about 5000 times with 500 partners? Or 5000 times with 1000 partners? What constitutes as "having sex?" If they have 100 partners at one time does that count as 1 sex or 100 sexes.

I think most people would agree that it's the total number of dicks that's the problem, not the total times someone's had sex.

That and at a certain point you have to stop having your new talent job to a 50 year old part timer.

How so. Give specifics so its not an obtuse back and forth

Let’s start with the bashing of Kelly’s contract while Kiffin’s deal is virtually the same.

If it’s down around the goal line, what’s wrong with the rule?

A team should not be able to win a game without scoring on their own merit. Particularly on a situational ruling.

Sure, in basketball you can win on a goal tending call, but that rule is in place for the entire game. Same for interference calls in baseball.

Now, if the rule were adjusted to say that a score would be awarded IF the team on offense is losing AND the penalties occur on back to back plays, then maybe. At that point the rule prevents the defense from just routinely committing infractions until the opposing team fails to convert.

I’m still not really a fan of officials being able to just award points.

It the pitcher was still batting pre DH, Ohtani wouod just play 1st base or the OF when he came off the mound

Dollars to donuts, Ohtani doesn’t go to the Dodgers without the universal DH. They literally changed the rule to allow him to DH for himself and for the team to not lose the DH when he leaves the game. And by virtue of the DH rule he gets to hit without playing the field.

e's a great player but it’s lame how the league has changed rules just to benefit him. It’d be like the NBA allowing teams to reset the shot clock and inbound the ball rather than shoot FT to get around hack a Shaq.

Don’t think it’s that severe, but the universal DH (came after he started his career, but was going to happen anyway) and allowing him to stay in the game as a DH after leaving the mound has definitely provided him opportunities that Ruth specifically didn’t have.

You're forgetting track & field, cross country, swimming & diving, golf, tennis, volley ball, beach volley ball, and soccer.

.did he go get the best candidates at the time he could and were they the ones 90% of fans and alum wanted? he did

There's no way to know if he got the best candidates he could get at the time, there was basically no interview process. Who knows who we would have wound up with if Kiffin hadn't worked out. They didn't even fire the previous BB coach until Wade was already on the plane.

"It's what the fans wanted" is BS and won't protect him if one or both don't work out.

Not sure what the Cowboys are currently worth

Current valuation by Forbes at an estimated $13 billion.
quote:

They put just about anybody on the list that played 10+years.

Not "just about anybody." The eligibility requirements are: Played 10 years in MLB within a 20 year timeframe (ie. Pete Rose will not be eligible for this ballot as he last played more than 20 years ago), retired for 5 years, not on the ineligible list.

Anyone who meets that criteria gets on the ballot. From there you have to garner 5% of the vote to remain on the ballot

Urban South catching strays. 4 sixers would run maybe $50 including tax.

How many kids didn't get a scholarship because of this kid?

Probably none. If he was offered a scholarship from a school and didn’t attend, that scholarship went to someone else.
So Verge says Mulkey is priceless, then proceeds to put about a $3mil valuation on her.

She probably generates a revenue above and beyond an average replacement, but his statement that “filling the building” is the difference between an $8mil deficit and an $11mil deficit is ridiculous.

A 50% reduction in ticket sales wouldn’t equal $3mil lost.

Tell me what of this criteria Tommy Hodson meets:

quote:

Athletes must have demonstrated truly unusual and outstanding accomplishments, exceeding and in addition to all criteria used for Hall of Fame selection. The athletic performance must be considered unique, such as winning of a Heisman Trophy or National Player of the Year award, and should be based on the total LSU career.

Athletes may also be considered for making dramatic impact on the popularity of his or her sport or for significant participation in positive change in LSU Athletics. Nominees must have a unanimous vote of support from the Hall of Fame committee.

For reference, HOF requirements:

quote:

To be eligible for the LSU Athletics Hall of Fame in the Athlete category, an individual must have earned a college degree and gained national distinction through superlative performance. Hall of Fame candidates must also have established a personal reputation for character and citizenship.
• To be eligible in the Coach/Administrator category, the individual must have made significant contributions to LSU Athletics and gained national distinction through exceptional accomplishments in his or her field of expertise while establishing an image that reflects favorably upon the University.
• To be eligible in the Distinguished Honor category, which was established in 2023, the individual must have contributed to the advancement and growth of a sport at LSU, or laid a path or expanded opportunities for LSU student-athletes.
