Y'all act like Chris Weinke and Brandon Weeden never existed.

LSU board and you use those examples over Mauck, Booty, and very recently Von Rosenberg.

Either way, the NCAA had specific eligibility rules regarding playing another sport professionally. Pyburn registered two sacks in a preseason game and RJ Luis has been traded and has an nba.com profile.

But it doesn’t happen when you stretch that ERA over the course of a season.

Over the course of a season, usually a guy doing things well will accumulate more wins than a guy who doesn't. And a guy doing things well will accumulate more wins than losses, but the fact remains that a pitcher cannot WIN a game.

But Paul Skenes led the league in ERA (1.97) and was second in WHIP (.95) last year with a 10-10 record. He wasn't significantly lower in average innings pitched per start, he was actually 4th in total innings pitched.

No one with more than 10 wins in the NL last year had an ERA lower than 2.08. A few even had ERA's north of 4.50.

The whole premise of this thread is a guy white knighting for his boy. Complaining that someone with 14 wins isn't seen as a more viable Cy Young candidate than guys with 12. While ignoring that the league leader has 16 wins, more strikeouts, and a comparable ERA.

Christopher Sanchez should at a minimum be above Chris Sale in terms of odds to win the NL CY.

Not true. I don’t understand why people act like it’s so black and white.

Win/Loss is a result of a myriad of other factors. It’s technically possible for a guy with a 0 ERA to never win a game while simultaneously being possible for a someone with an infinitely high ERA to never lose.

Now, you can use wins as an aggregate of those factors, but it will never come close to the full picture.

Yeah, you're right, wins and losses don't matter at all in sports. Dumb arse pos.

Season remains to be played, but are two additional wins really that relevant when one guy is clearly better in virtually every category.

Then enlighten us on the usage of NIL that is being violated?

I don’t have the answer to that. You’d have to ask his legal team.

quote:

Archival Footage is a copyrighted work which supersedes NIL

I’m no copyright lawyer, but arguably the copyright would protect LSU from any other entity using the material in question.

This smells like a miscalculated PR lawsuit.

Obviously. 3 reasons this lawsuit was made: his team got pissy about the number 5 being issued, his team thought they could strong arm LSU into not letting Pickett wear the number, or his team is trying to strong arm LSU into a new contract. Some combination of the 3.

Exactly. All this hard core “don’t answer a question and assert your rights!” is all fine if you’re accused of a real crime but it’s bad advice for a traffic stop.

I'm not advocating for being an a-hole. You can be polite and not answer the "Do you know how fast you were going," etc. line of questing. They know why they pulled you over, they know how fast they think you were going. You do nothing for yourself by giving them the information. A simple "I'm not exactly sure," is a perfectly fine response. Saying, "Its your job to know that," isn't.

I've been pulled over for speeding and rolling stops. I've gotten tickets some times and warnings other.

If they've already made up their mind to give you a ticket no amount of being polite is going to get you out of it. You can convince them to give you one by being an a-hole, though.

The letter was purposely made vague but the name, image , and likeness in this case is referring to the #5. As I mentioned Jayden was essentially claiming he owns the #5. The letter is then claiming that LSU is using Jayden’s NIL (the #5) when they shouldn’t be.

Given that the number 5 isn’t explicitly stated in the letter, I think you’re reading more into it than is there.

The lawyers would have to be complete morons (possible, but unlikely) to claim any of LSUs protected branding constitutes Daniels’ NIL.

Even if you assume he has some standing, any claim to the LSU jersey with the number 5 on it would be immediately dismissed with the simple evidence that he wasn’t the only person wearing that number at the time.

He has no more claim to that jersey than Laterrance Welch or any other previous wearer and a lawyer would be stupid to try and make the argument that he does.
Never answer, “Do you know why I pulled you over?” Or any other question of the like.

Didn't he have 0 RBIs? I know a week or 2 ago he did.

He had an RBI groundout against the Red Sox last week to get his first.

Well you’re going to need to fix this.

Isn't it straight up a still shot from a porn movie?

make a whole museum dedicated to Jayden Daniels' career. With zero ads and free to enter. Just one giant historical document.

I'm fine with this, but take it one step further and put a black bar over his nameplate and replace his face with a clown face. Just make it extra obvious.

I thought one trophy went to the player and one to the school?

It does. He's demanding LSU turn over their trophy to him. All because another player gets to wear a number that countless players before him wore.
quote:

I really wish LSU would announce/enact a policy of not retiring jersey numbers.

They have one. LSU does not officially retire numbers. If a coach wants to take a number out of circulation, he can do that. Miles took 37 out of circulation, 9 has been out of circulation since 2019, and apparently Kelly took 5 out of circulation.

Kelly's not here any more and Kiffin is rightfully more concerned with keeping his current player happy.

but if he’s the only Heisman winner whose number was used again

Assuming 20 was never worn after Cannon, Jayden is also the only Heisman winner to not win a national championship.
quote:

It’s ridiculous he asked for the number in the first place. It shows zero respect for LSU’s history and traditions.

I think Keiland Williams' calves should tell them both to frick off and demand that Daniels' number be retroactively changed.

If he says "no" then Pickett wears #3

And if Pickett doesn’t agree to this stipulation?

Better win or it'll be like the Titans wearing their Oilers unis against the Texans.

Yeah, he's in the movie, but he's not a major part of the plot line. Again, he has 3 minutes max of screen time. The role definitely qualifies as a cameo.
