LESS THAN FIVE years ago the big talking point was that it would cost $15M to construct a championship caliber roster.

How in the absolute frick did that nearly triple in such a short time?

Deregulation. Five years ago you didn't have unlimited, immediately eligible transfers. You had signing/scholarship limits.

LSU brought in 59 new players this offseason.

Great movie, but encapsulate the 90s it does not.

He has evaluated well enough, but ....His All conference level PG has been lost for the season who makes everyone around him better.

His most skilled and experienced inside player has been lost for the season the second year in a row.

I'm no expert, but if in year 4 your entire team's performance goes to shite without 2 players then I don't think you've evaluated talent "well enough." You should have more than enough depth to make a passable effort on the court.

South American country of Colombia, but I’m guessing you knew and were being sarcastic? OP should fix the thread title spelling.

Of course I knew. I saw the thread title and clicked on it solely for the purpose of making the remark in the event that OP actually meant the country, which is always spelled "Colombia" vs one of the many US cities spelled "Columbia."

Which one? South Carolina, Missouri? We need more info.
Collis III and Garrett Temple.

It was probably really prevalent in earlier years.

But there are a number of brothers, father/sons, and even some 3 generation families.

. Women’s Bball won a Natty, sells out every damn game and still loses Millions! If not for the SEC TV Deal it would be the same for Men

Every sport would lose money if it weren’t for tv revenue. More realistically, the financial structure of athletics would be vastly different.

If you don’t think men’s BB is leaving a ton of money on the table in terms of ticket sales by being below mediocre, then I don’t know what to tell you.

His reasoning was firing McMahon and his staff , hiring a new coach and staff plus money for NIL would cost around 30 million dollars and LSU isn’t willing to do that .

The math doesn’t math. If the plan is to gut the staff then they’re already paying buyouts plus new hires. Also, isn’t it a common feature of assistant contracts that buyouts are voided if the head coach is fired? Or is that just football?

One would think they’re paying NIL either way.

And we know McMahon’s buyout is $6.5mil broken out over the remainder of his contract, or in other words he’s getting ~$2.2 mil next year one way or the other.

The only new expense would be another HC salary plus whatever buyout owed to his previous school.

So LSU can’t afford the “$30mil” to fire McMahon, but they can afford the let’s call it $26mil to keep him and fire his assistants.

I don’t know the exact numbers but you have to think some of the 4 million difference would be made up for by increased ticket sales.

I don’t know. I’ve been hearing there’s lots of cause for concern regarding the pitching.
This is offensive.

3 keystrokes. The difference between making a point and making yourself a mockery.

Stats don’t lie

Stats are inherently neutral. The bias comes in how they're collected, interpreted, and implemented.

For instance, you're trying to create panic based on a 4 game sample size.

People have tried to make “Honkey Badger” a thing for Whit Weeks. That’s way worse.

Didn't you read the thread. Now he can vote and own guns again.

The show first aired almost 2 years to the day after 9/11. It's still a funny premise.

BIlly did his time and turned his life around. Why does receiving a pardon bother you and anyone else. It’s not like he was pardoned while in jail or before he went to jail. He served his time.

You ask why the pardon would bother someone, I ask why did he receive a pardon given everything else in your post. Particularly given that he is deceased. Posthumous pardons should be reserved for the wrongfully convicted.

We love our political grandstanding as long as it's our guy doing it and our guy reaping the benefit. Maybe he'll pardon Harvey Updyke next. Having too much Bama in you shouldn't be an arrestable offense anyway.

I don't know about "as offensive." I could see the argument that it is most often used derisively and as such is not a harmless "abbreviation. But I'm not an expert on the terminology.
I disagree with just about the whole premise.

Turnovers are generally seen as worse than a punt because they usually kill momentum and/or result in better field position for the opposing team. Punting is a strategic choice.

But yeah, people generally think that punting a whole lot is bad.

This is pretty dumb
Why?

Why would you need to count a punt as half a turnover. Turnovers is a tracked statistic, punts is also a tracked statistic. No need to combine the too.

In short, what is improved by this proposal?

Using the Patriots numbers, you would be saying they turned the ball over 21.5 times in the playoffs. That's convoluted.
