By who's metric? What are their criteria?

We could start by life expectancy, which has been steadily dropping across the US, or dollar per year of life, which has been steadily increasing, or a variety of other metrics.

The bottom line is we are paying more for worse care than other countries.

Just nothing about the way he acted/responded/moved says the he was some John Q wannabe who is mad a claim got denied. Not saying he wasn’t hired by someone like that, but this dude didn’t fumbled around and almost blow his dick off like you would expect of someone who has never done some stuff.

Pathetic. We don't let deranged murderers walk free in America because we are displeased with corporate policies.

A lot of bitter quasi-lunatics in this thread. People think reality is a Batman movie.

Improper denial of coverage certainly warrants lawsuits, or legislation, or reform, but never cold-blooded executions. That's not how things work in a democracy predicated on the rule of law. Murder is a tragedy and the perpetrator should spend the rest of his miserable, petty days in jail. We should never celebrate or condone it. It isn't justice. It's weak derangement, not to mention cowardly beyond belief to ambush an unarmed man.

We don't even know what precipitated the murder. Could have been a lover's spat or a hit from a criminal organization.

See, this is more like one of those things that is like - what do they call it - oh, both parties were in the game. There may have been a victim in this incident, but the victim was far from innocent.

He was the top dog for a company that role plays as God every day.

Not worse care. The care is far quicker and more responsive.

We weren't too far away from Biden admin telling private Healthcare to mandate covid jabs or cancel coverage. It was about 2 exits ahead and may have happened with a liberal Supreme Court

I wish he would’ve

I would’ve canceled my insurance. You don’t need insurance if you deadlift and don’t eat carbs

With the 60 bucks a month I’d save I could get a new game like every month

They should call it insoyrance since the people with insurance can’t put down the seed oils long enough to get healthy

This is true. The US is #4 in cancer survival despite having the most obese population along with others who care the least for themselves in the western world.

You mention prosecuting this guy. And while I’m no fan of his I struggle to see what specific charges would be brought against him by the prosecutor

You can’t just show up to court and say “Nuremberg Code.”

That’s absolute bs

European govts deny care at higher rates than we do.

Why do you think terminal care spending is so much higher in America?

Also, European govts are much more likely than insurance companies to deny things like heart stents and hip/knee replacements. Not a bad thing necessarily if the procedures aren’t needed, but your assertion that care is not denied in Europe is false false false

I agree with the rest of your post that shooting a CEO isn't how we do things in society, but "bro just sue the #8 company on the Fortune 500 list" is a silly oversimplification of the whole thing. People do crazy things when they feel like they're being mistreated and left with no other choice. If someone this guy loved was denied lifesaving oncological care deemed "not medically necessary" by UNH and this CEO is about to give a presentation on how much money the company made this year, I can see the thought process. Doesn't mean I condone it but it makes sense.

Studies find that American life expectancy is lower than peer nations due to higher death rates among younger Americans, due to things like gun deaths, obesity, car accidents, etc.

Among people *over 50*, life expectancy is similar in America as in Europe. Aka, if you hit age 50 in America, you are likely to live as long as other nations

I respectfully disagree. It makes no sense. The murder won't change the coverage decision, won't get the treatment, won't change the policies, won't save the life of a loved one. It just compounds misery with misery. It isn't a rational or effective response, it's the impulsive reaction of an psychologically unstable, unregulated person. I understand the emotion involved, but thankfully the overwhelming majority of Americans would not act on the emotion and commit a senseless murder. Those who do are criminals that must rot in jail. American society provides many legitimate methods for effecting change (and even getting financial vengeance for wrongs), such as lawsuits and the political process, inefficient though they may be. Ambushing an unarmed man on the street is criminal cowardice, not justice. I feel strongly about that.

Screams pro hit job and not disgruntled patient/family. One can only theorize why but…

Had a backpack (probably with a change of clothes) and escape plan that to this point has worked.

Shot in back, nothing personal, with suppressed weapon to keep the noise down.

Made sure to finish the job and cooly walk away.

Dude may be on the way/somewhere in Asia or South America by now.

That dude is still in NYC, likely at his "regular job", getting ready for Christmas with the girlfriend and her family...maybe bought some presents today for her.
