OU used to measure success in NCs, never going too long between them.
It’s been 25 years now, 23 of those in the Big 12. An historic drought by their standards. I’m not sure the SEC is their problem but as with everyone else there aren’t a lot of layups.

A&M doesn’t exactly have a great track record with big time hires, save Jackie Sherrill. Fran is one of several cases.

OUs offense has looked putrid the last 2 RRS.
While the series is tied since 2020, Texas hasn’t scored less than 30 in their losses in high scoring games.
OU has been held to 0, 3, and 6 in their 3 losses including a 49-0 thumping (their worst in the entire series). By comparison Texas hasn’t scored in the single digits since 2004.
But Texas struggles to find rhythm and makes mistakes on offense and special teams. It really feels like a 24-10 type game and maybe close enough at half to be interesting. Hard to see OU solving what Simmons, Muschamp and co. will bring with two weeks to prep. This is a nasty defense, the most stacked that Sark has had, and actually reminiscent of some of Stoops’ defenses in the 2000s.
Smothers being back should help with some of that offensive rhythm.

Phil at one time had the largest private collection of artifacts from the Alamo. He donated all of it back, worried he might lose it in one of his divorces.

Both sides are good at distraction. The GOP seems to come up with some wild ones around election time.
No one really cares about the 0.05% of the Texas population who are trans or the 1 person wanting to play soccer or whatnot. It’s like #151 on the importance list. But the GOP ad playbook seems to be all in on the trans this cycle. :lol:

It’s a shame too. The coliseum is an awesome place to watch a game. You do feel a little like being in ancient Rome during a USC game especially if there’s a decent crowd (rare nowadays).
