re: Why can't Barbasol answer if they are pro BLM? - TejasHorn
Wow the snowflakes around here now. 1. Log off the internet and social media 2. Pick up a healthier habit. Golf, running, maybe volunteering? 3. Try not to care about brand politics. You’ll be a happier person. Do you want to look back on life thinking “I really showed Barbasol?”...

re: How to handle the "salary expectations" question? - TejasHorn
Advice here is all well and good. But many companies use screeners for the first phone interview and “can’t submit your application until we have an answer on your salary expectations.” Basically the whole point of that interview is to confirm you have a pulse and if you’re too expensive....

re: CFB flashback: 1990 season - TejasHorn
Love these threads. That was a fun year. Colorado was involved in some crazy games back then. 1990 was the year of Texas’ return, with an outside chance at the NC. Until Miami took out their frustrations in the cotton bowl. It took Texas years to recover from the abuse that day....

re: Why are Notre Dame and Texas A&M consistently in preseason top 15? - TejasHorn
ND has some history and people look at all the likely Ws on their schedule before they lay an egg. A&M there is no explanation other than overspending on coaches maybe....

re: Is USC the next Georgia Tech and Tulane? - TejasHorn
Has Tulane been prominent since the Roosevelt administration? I honestly don’t know. I always think of them like Rice. Great schools that decided long ago to focus on their academic reputation. Both with decent baseball programs....

re: Could a young Stevie Nicks make it big today? - TejasHorn
Tanya Tucker was more akin to Taylor. Stevie is in a league of her own. She also took the partying to a rarified level. Made #1 hits while she and the rest of the band were wired for sound....

re: Generation X people, was Live Aid the greatest day in music for our time? - TejasHorn
I remember it being a huge deal but it hasn’t held up over time like Woodstock, obviously. Other than the Queen performance. This thread reminded me of Band Aid. Sort of all my favorite bands at the time in one song. What a collection of talent. [link=(https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=bjQzJAKxTr...

re: Do you have a family member on the opposite side of the aisle? - TejasHorn
I have family members and friends on both sides and they are both insufferable. The Trump side tends to look at every granular aspect of life through a political lens and have echo’d themselves into crazy uncle status. The lib side overreacts and tribalizes in response, to where they claim to ...

re: Mexican journalist who wrote about crime found beheaded - TejasHorn
Mexico laughs at corruption in the U.S.
The cartels are as bad or worse than what we’ve seen in the Mideast. There isn’t a lot of difference from ISIS, other than their motivation ($). They are extremely well armed paramilitaries that control much of the government especially at t...

re: Beloved Texas restaurant chain Luby's to be liquidated, dissolved - TejasHorn
The fried fish at Luby’s is always on point. Covid is just the last nail, they’ve been closing restaurants for a while. Hard to run a cafeteria and make money nowadays. Or as someone else alluded to, the management gets exponentially harder with more locations. Fuddruckers had a pretty goo...
