That pistol malfunctioned after every shot.

Subsonic with a can. It happens. Probably thought there was a slight chance he'd catch the target alone at that hour (or at least with no one watching).

Yes. Masked up. Suppressor. Clearing the malfunction (multiple times) without panic. Backpack probably full of a change of clothes. Last seen in Central Park which probably assisted in getting away from cameras and disappearing.

Professional

SIAP, but Daily Mail has a quote from his wife that he had recently received threats and he was also under investigation by the DOJ for insider trading and antitrust violations.

Greed doesn’t justify killing a CEO in public space.
If the greed or incompetence results in the death of someone’s loved one it’s not really your place to decide what’s justified or not. Revenge is looked down upon in many societies but it is not an inherently evil concept

Easier fix is you develop a deeper understanding of the human condition because this is not a particularly shocking outcome if you understand how people who have been (or feel) aggrieved think and operate. This is a completely understandable response from someone who feels they had a loved one taken from them, or someone now in financial/life ruin. The only thing shocking about this is that it hasn’t happened before with regular frequency

I’m sure this has been posted but the video exists and it looks pretty professional. Dude walks right up, shoots him and makes sure the job is done before walking off. Seemed like a hit man or a veteran who’s family member died because of shite coverage

While I’m not going to celebrate a murder this is what happens you make a system that enables profit over health. Monetizing healthcare means companies will absolutely hit a point where they value their bottom line over the health of some of their own customers.

I'm not siding with insurance companies here, but if you take away the profits part of any trade, you don't end up with the most qualified people. Profits are what drive efficiency and innovation.

I don't condone extrajudicial killings, but I can absolutely understand the mindset of someone who would if they or a loved one suffered because of something this guy did. This image tells part of a nasty story:

When it comes down to it, we're all a bunch of upright apes who have agreed not to kill each other. Upset the balance of that and things get spooky. I think we truly are going through a 2nd Gilded Age

My point wasn’t profits are bad it’s that making healthcare about profits is bad. It’s why privatization of healthcare doesn’t work in the long run.

Twice the denial rate of the industry average - whoa.

They were set to report healthy earnings this AM at that conference too

I wonder if any of that is due to the types of customer each underwrites and the trades that their various groups insure

For instance, I would expect Kaiser Permanente to have a lower claim denial rate because the majority of their insureds are medical personnel

A bunch of these companies have faced class actions for having AI review claims. It's wild when you read the cases, the systems spend like an average of two seconds reviewing each claim. I guess that's the point of it.

Well...except for the guy that killed the guy this thread is about.

He, apparently, did not enter into such agreement.

Neither did I, I just haven't found the right cause. For some people it's greed, for others it's revenge

Mine will probably be having to pull up for the spicy

It looked like a hit to me. Dude had a silencer on his weapon, walked up, shot him in back, then walked away. No confrontation, argument or robbery.

Mr. CEO violated that agreement when he personally denied elgaucho's cousin's fibromyalgia treatment.
