Three leagues participating in the Little League Baseball Southwest Region Tournament filed a joint protest against Tulsa National Little League on Sunday morning and on Monday afternoon, the fate of Team Oklahoma was revealed.
Oklahoma has been disqualified from the Southwest Region Tournament, according to team representatives from Louisiana and Texas West.

I think the same thing happened to a softball team from Oklahoma (Tulsa possibly?) like a month ago
ETA: here's my thread on the MSB when Tulsa softball got caught cheating too

The contest between Louisiana and Texas West slated for 2 p.m. CST on ESPN will now serve as the championship game.

This should probably result in a multi-year type of ban for Oklahoma.

Ascension playing for the championship today!

it's always the parents that ruin kid's sports.

Why was the player ineligible?
Posted on 8/10/26 at 1:09 pm to geaux1996
What kind of loser arse parents/adults knowingly let ineligible players play?
I don’t give a frick if “it’s their friends! They've played together for years!” or “their birthday is literally a day after the cutoff! It’s not hurting anything!!” It’s a loser arse and selfish mentality that is ruining the experience for the kids that actually are eligible

The team that Tulsa eliminated got shafted. I get it cause it seems that team might have left already.

This.
Without any other info though, I’m guessing the kid was a 16 year old from the Dominican Republic. Or something along those lines.

Oklahoman News
so, it doesnt look like the age of a player was at issue

Three Southwest Regional Tournament participants asked the league to investigate “whether Tulsa National Little League operated its entire 2026 baseball program in compliance with Little League Regulations, Playing Rules, Operating Policies, Charter Requirements and Player Eligibility Requirements required for International tournament eligibility,”
The complaint accuses Tulsa National of violating the sibling participation regulation II(a)(1), league eligibility, pitching more than one game in a day regulation VI(k), and completing a game Rule 4.10(c)(2).

That’s rarely the case it usually centers on where they live or what school they go to

quote:Reading between the lines on the player eligibility, it looks like they are accused of using the sibling regulation of a challenger division (special needs) player to allow player(s) from another LL district to play on their team. The only issue is they are accused of not actually having a challenger division program.

Also they were accused of the standard over using pitchers and not playing enough games to qualify, and when they were called out on it they were going back into gamechanger and changing the data, then submitting the gamechanger data as their proof to Little League. That doesn't work too well if the data before it was edited is what was used for the complaint.

No surprise here. There is a reason why they are called Sooners. It's in their DNA.

Can someone translate this travelballian into English for us?

Took four fricking paragraphs (along with having to scroll past several different ads and an embedded twitter link) of that article to get to why they were DQ’d. I swear journalism is dead.

English
Challenger division - This is a special needs division within Little League that allows kids to practice and play the great game, often with 'buddies' that help them as needed. It is an incredible division and several rec leagues in South La have this division or similar, and it's an absolute blast to work with these organizations and see these kids get to be kids.
Sibling Regulation - This rule allows siblings of a member in a district to play for that district even if they live outside the district.
It would appear based on the accusation that the Tulsa little league is being accused of using this regulation to allow a sibling or siblings play for their all-star team of challenger division players. by claiming the challenger division sibling is a part of their league. The problem is they are accused of not having a Challenger Division.
Over using pitchers - Little League limits the pitches as well as required rest for pitchers in the interest of the health of the players.
They are accused of ignoring these rules and pitching the same pitcher in the same day, which is a no-no.
Enough qualifying games - Little League players and teams are required to play a minimum number of complete official games in order to qualify for post-season participation.
They are accused of using non-official and not completed games as part of their qualification to participate in the International tournament.
Gamechanger - mobile/web application used as a digital scorekeeper for youth sports.
They are accused of going back into past games and manipulating the scoresheets to make it look like they did not do the things they were accused of. If they presented Gamechanger as their official sportsbook, then changing it after the fact is not only a big red flag, but also a giant no-no.

Considering Tulsa's baseball & softball teams were both DQed for eligibility reasons... when do we hit Tulsa National for lack of institutional control & give it the death penalty?
