Why do we always assume parents are forcing their kids to play? Has it ever occurred to you that some kids love playing sports and this is what they want to do?

I don't think there is a topic that this board is more off with than travel ball and youth sports in general. A lot of what is repeated non stop in every thread is extremely off base with reality. I think 50% base everything off a few tik tok videos they see, and the other 50% repeat it because they want to fit in on an anymomous message board.

My son plays Lafayette LL and "travel" ball. The furthest travel for a tournament we have had is to Crowley, Broussard, and Youngsville. All the kids on his travel team play little league too. It is (for the most part) a great group of kids who enjoy playing baseball. Most parents aren't forcing anyone to do anything.

yea I say it all the time, if you live between houston and mobile, there is a travel tournament within 1 hour drive every weekend along i-10. If you travel more than that...its usually because you want to. exception would be a true majors level team but even then, there is always a tournament within 2 hours drive

If they knowingly had illegal player, they let all the other kids (and their families …vac time, $$$) down. Was supposed to be best sports memory. Became worst sports memory.

Winning without ethics is costly. As it SHOULD BE.
