out of all the parishes in the state of LA (64) Orleans parish was the only one to have a criminal and civil Clerk of Court separate.
position was created by state legislature originally for separate civil/criminal branches
LA legislature, who created the positions, passed legislation to combine the two into the currently elected position and eliminated the position that was about to have an election.
city moved forward with the election anyways, and the cities candidate won.
state AG sued city and won in court and all the way to state supreme court. city first tried appeal to federal courts, but fed judge said this was a state issues, and it played out in state courts.
now city is trying again to take it to federal court.
in between al of this, the city tried to indict the AG for a letter she sent to the city stating that if they place the official in position they would be criminally complicit.

An saban did the same at LSU. He came in following the Archer/curly/dinardo dark ages and had a sec championship in 2 years and a MNC in 4.

Life can come at you fast. My brother-in-law was going to retire at the end of last year. Had a massive heart attack in early December. I can’t imagine what my sister and my niece and nephew are going through. Planning a future one day and then gone the next.

i had looked that up. he was very close to the rates speed of the tires. but the forces on the tire are magnified when you hit a bump or dip in the road. so it could have failed for that reason as well

ANY other loan on earth looks at money borrowed vs risk of payback. Student loans have zero collateral. Only caveat is it can’t be discharged by bankruptcy
