I like it. Send gumbo to jeet, not jeet to gumbo.

It’s just a God damned shame we let New Orleans and some other places turn into shite holes.

Politicians catering to the lowest dregs of society blows my mind.

I've actually watched that channel quite a bit, and there are the occasional non-muslims on there and they have had bacon if I remember correctly

If they took off the turbans, not a one of those guys would stick out in Delcambre or Cut Off.

That was a fun video. The men were pretty funny also. My favorite was the really old man but in the 2 men segment, the one on the right was funny also.

I wonder how they kept the food preserved so well. I doubt there are many chefs experienced in Louisiana cuisine in the middle of Pakistan

This. The best dishes involve pork and I’m sure it’s off limits for them

Man, if that video doesn't make your heart smile, I don't know what to tell you.

I’m with those guys. Gumbo is better than jambalaya. In 2016 I slept at the Livingston parish courthouse (looking at GE pics and I think that was the courthouse) for two nights and then inside the jail for a few nights after the floods with the NG. Locals would bring / make us hot meals which were a ton better than MREs. I ate a lot of jambalaya which may have turned me off to it. It was always dry with the rice sticking to the meat. Although one guy setup shop outside the jail with a cast iron bowl maybe 4’ in diameter and a couple of feet deep with a burner. His jambalaya was juicy. Not gumbo juicy but not dry. It was delicious.

They would if you told it was something else and they would love it. Then you could tell them what it really is and they can throw you off a building.

I don’t know but the gumbo they kept showing from overhead is not the same thing they were eating when talking about it. The overhead gumbo was pretty dark and they were eating something more yellowish brown, like an etouffee.

I do enjoy videos like these though. I’ve seen several of the one where the British school kids try different shite. They’re pretty entertaining videos.

The shrimp on the jambalaya (?) was also fried and in the picture they showed it wasn’t. And the reb beans were different too. So I assume they are just using stock photos of the dishes and not actually showing the actual dish they are eating.

Still cool though. I’d love to see those dudes experience Mardi Gras.

The whole world loves Louisiana’s culture….except of course, Louisianans!
