kick to the head of someone on the ground is where it went too far IMO. I don’t think he’s beating that one.
you probably are right, tbh. Wonder if the "kid" had mental issues like schizo or bipolar? Normal people his age aren't living at home screaming at people across the street

Yall must be emotionally invested in this case. I don’t know any of these people and don’t give a frick.
I watched the video multiple times. Guy is running at the kid in an aggressive manner.
Yall are seeing what yall want to see.
I think it's pretty clear who is actually emotionally invested here
He immediately started walking as soon as he left the traffic lane, he did not "run" up on the kid. He walked up to the kid and the kid attacked him.
It could also be argued that the kid was the aggressor if he was yelling threats.
At any rate, the pastor will get in trouble for the extra punches and kick at the end, I'm sure.

Doesn't his dad do the same? Learned behavior.

It’s clear you and multiple others don’t know anything about criminal law. Pointless to discuss with you.
You may think the kid deserved to get beat up, but that’s not the law and how it should be applied here.

Neither were in the "right" here, the kid wasn't acting in self defense.

Do you consider the line for self defense that someone has to take a swing at you?

A shepherd must protect his flock.

Pastor ran up to him and then took a couple more steps at him. The kid has a right to self defense. The kid doesn’t have to wait for a battery to happen on him.
Are you omitting that the 20yr old shouted that he was going to rape his wife and daughter, or just unaware? Any man would have stormed over there ready to whip arse. Also, stop calling the 20 year old a “kid”.

Is there proof of this? if not, then its meaningless. If true with proof, and it goes before a jury, the pastor walks.

who in their right mind would attend this church and give this clown money

but that’s what the jury instructions would be.
Who gives a shite what the instructions are?
In case you haven't noticed judges all over the country don't give a shite about the law and rule how they want so frick their instructions. If I'm on the jury he walks.

The kid is recording on his phone, even while getting his as5 beat.

I think he's probably in the wrong legally, if the things the kid allegedly said are true then I'll give him the pass morally. I don't care for the guy but regardless, he had a bad arse quote for a fighting pastor to say after he got back to the church from jail:

quote:
So today, I fulfilled the scripture. I laid hands on the sick. I don’t know how much recovery they’re going to have, but I laid hands on the sick

Wasn’t the kid”standing his ground” when Spell crossed the street?

From what I've read, the kid and his family have been taunting and harassing the pastor and their congregation ever since COVID when the pastor refused to stop providing religious services. Because he didn't, the taunting has been ongoing for years now with the final straw apparently being the kid (20yr old) yelling to the pastor that he was going to rape the pastor's wife.
Listening to Franz on 107.3 this morning, he mentioned that the pastor's "charging" at the kid was a problem, giving the kid cover for "self-defense" even though the kid swung first. Franz also mentioned that the pastor entered onto the other family's property.
From the video ( The Holy Smite-eth Down), neither of those things happened. The pastor wasn't "charging" at the kid, he sped up to get out of the way of an oncoming vehicle. His hands were down but he was definitely confronting the kid (which is not against the law). He didn't step foot on the other party's property nor raise hands until after the kid left his property AND attacked the pastor on the road's shoulder.

What a crappy family.
I hope this shakes out well for the pastor. Thanks for the info and video!

It just gets more embarrassing for the 20
Year old getting beat up and having corrupt cops arrest the guy 28 years older. Perhaps don’t threaten to rape anyone if you can’t throw fist when challenged over it.
