For those who conceal carry, why would you want the gun holstered while driving wouldn't that be uncomfortable? In terms of having your gun in your car, can you legally keep it in the glove box? Or have a place to store it under the steering wheel.?

I carry on the small of my back so it's not uncomfortable.

You can keep your gun wherever you want in your car. I have a magnet mounted on the bottom of my dash near my right leg that holds my gun.

I heard on fox news today that the recording of the dispatch says he is pulling over an armed robbery suspect.

Im not talking about a physical marking. Im saying in the cops system, there is a flag on your license if you have a permit.

I mean, common courtesy, right?

How much of this bullshite could be solved if both sides acted like that on an encounter?

Yeah, I don't think that's been confirmed yet. He allegedly fit the description of a robbery suspect according to that report.

The truth is that currently we only have one side of the story yet everyone is treating that evidence as the gospel truth. It's irresponsible and, as we've already seen, dangerous.

Pcastille informed them. And was shot. Dead. While a passenger. Being asked for Id for a busted tail light that wasn't even messed up.

You really struggle with reading comprehension. I'm assuming you weren't much into that whole "schooling crap, mayne". Even according to his honest ole lady, he didn't place his hands on the dashboard or steering wheel when informing the officer. If he would have, he would still be alive.

But you're right, for someone like you, it's best not to carry as it sounds like you're not real keen on following instructions

Yeah, it's not a complicated algorithm. You both want to leave the encounter with the same amount of holes, so you might as well facilitate it as best as you can. If the cop is out of line, your action is in the courtroom, not the street. If you try and solve it in the street, you're gonna lose one way or another.

Not positive, but I've been pulled over numerous times while not carrying and they never asked

Some states require you to disclose that you are carrying a firearm in a concealed manner.

As a matter of courtesy, you can inform the officer. I guess that depends on how the conversation goes.

Yeah, map of states posted earlier. In LA, you must, or face a fine and loss of your CCL.

If you're in Louisiana you are required to tell them. Why would you hide that info from a cop if you are permitted to carry? That's what criminals do. Hide info and then something bad usually happens as a result.

My family member who was a senior Federal le official got pulled over for speeding by police. The first thing he said was he was federal LE and carrying. . They freaked out and tried to arrest him. Once they verified who he was they let him go but the police department filed a complaint and it was a 6 month investigation to clear him of wrongdoing. The police tried to say they felt threatened by him telling them he was armed.

fricking stupid if you ask me.

I don't think it has been confirmed but the more we hear about this case the more we find out the more it looks like the GF is either lying or was to emotional to be reliable.

I keep my hands on the steering wheel, tell him I have a gun and where it is and let him decide what I do next

Good answer. What if you have a registered gun in your glove compartment? Do you typically need a permit for that? Asking for a friend.

Well I want aware guns are registered but if you're some place where that is required I'd tell him if it becomes relevant. Like if you have to go in the glove box or wherever a gun is.

you inform the officer of the fact or just let it ride? With all the shite going down, which option is riskier right now?

You are required to produce your CHL with your liscence in TX. .I forgot at one traffic stop and got a letter about it a few weeks later that just said next time produce it. I think the cops computer system was down so he couldn't pull it up.
