As a member of the medical community I think it's hilarious that some, particularly nurses, are asking for hazard pay.

We are damned lucky to have well-paying, stable jobs right now.

I've about had it with facebook for a little while. The nurses are in a tough spot so their flipping out doesn't really bother me. But all the social distancing heroes have.

Now, she is back at work and preaching again. Posted something the other day that basically said “all lives are precious and the economy can wait”. I don’t ever post on FB but am fighting the urge to call her out for having a wedding (albeit a small one with limited guests) in a foreign country.

Did they all self quarantine when they got home???

Nurses and teachers are the same type of woman. If you're that type and you want to have kids you become a teacher, if you don't want kids you become a nurse.

You are about to get shamed for being a bored non-essential worker who is complaining to the OT about the people who are doing a difficult job that are complaining on Facebook.

I deleted the Facebook app off my phone. I found myself wanting to start too many fights with too many people over the idiotic shite they posted.

I honestly don't even know what you're trying to argue here.

I was saying that criticizing nurses during a pandemic for having job security is laughable. It's similar to saying the same about soldiers during a war . Easy for you to say. You have a JOB. I'm over here losing money while you're taking grenades.

Of course something has changed. There is a new highly contagious and potentially deadly virus in our communities that hospitals are fighting with oftentimes a lack of protective equipment.

The problem is it hasn't reached a lot of communities yet at levels that concern them. So, they've taken to denial and whining. This isn't surprising. High blood pressure and obesity don't tend to scare Americans until they've had their first heart attack. It'll be the same with this virus. Nobody cares until prominent people and loved ones start to die.

No one signed up for a pandemic with inadequate PPE. That's the stupidest fricking thing I've ever heard.

Maybe not the insufficient PPE, but they definitely signed up to serve during a pandemic.

No they signed up to be nurses.
They knew this could happen.
They aren’t bitching about much on social media especially in an area where I am
