re: Those with social media, anyone else getting shamed by nurses?

Money became the focus, not the patients. They cut out our ancillary personnel,we typically were short on equipment to care for patients. The mantra became “do more with less”.
This was why I left the bedside when I did and went to infection control. I was expected to care for more patients with less help. Instead of having a CNA to help do that stuff that doesn't require an RN for...I had to do all that as well on top of all my nursing duties and now do that for more patients that I realistically could safely care for.
That is where this is gonna get interesting because sooo many hospitals now were still going by this "do more with less" mentality. You already had many nurses getting burnt out before COVID-19. Those that were just saying "frick it" and either retiring early if they could or stepping away from the bedside to find other nursing jobs. Now add all this.....I wouldn't be surprised that many more will be frantically looking for an exit strategy.

Nurses make decent money in most places. They aren't underpaid.
As soon as Bernie and his crew get Medicare 4 All running, that decent money will end. Look at the pay scale for NHS nurses in the UK for proof.

Why do so many women want to look like Puerto Rican whooo’was?

I don't get it either.
A nicely defined reasonable brow is ok...but bigger is not always better in this situation.
I have a scar on one of my eyebrows from chickenpox as a child...so I've been filling my brows in with a pencil ever since I was like 20. But would never go to the extremes I see these young women do these days.

Nurse!
Hope you’re staying safe over on that end.

Most hospitals in the US break even on Medicare. They'll have to up reimbursement rates by 20% or 75% of them will fold. They don't tell you that though.

Uncle JackD!
What's up my friend??? How is Max?
Butters is still being Butters. Love that silly little pug.
Doing ok...I'm not at the bedside but busy as hell at work since I work in infection control.
Not working right now cause I've been sick since Thursday and I have to be 72hours free of symptoms until I can return. (don't worry...i'm not sick with covid...likely the flu without a fever or respiratory symptoms...had a few days of chills, bad body aches, and lots of fatigue).
How are you doing? Still at the bedside?

Cool. Find a different profession. You signed up for it knowing the pay.

Many nurses are loving this attention. They aren't doing ICU group photoshoots because someone forced them to line up for the camera, I can promise that.
There are a lot of incredible nurses doing great work right now, but there is a large segment eating this shite up.

I have seen the opposite of that where they blast those that are not staying home and making their job harder.

Yep. Pretty much all of them lose money on Medicaid.
