Had an ‘03 Supercrew like this. 4.6L, put 100k on it in two years with zero issues. Nice ride.

I’m always amazed by those fords. They creak so much you would think they are about to fall apart, yet they keep on trucking. You can always hear them coming

Truck was $21,000 brand new off the lot. You see some in good condition selling at auctions nowadays for 36,800–$45,000.16,953 were made. Somebody probably knows someone with one of these stashed on their property.

Couldn’t pass up a 2013 Lariat 5.0 with 120k miles for my son’s first truck a couple months back. Told him if he treats it well and decides to go to college out of town, he’s taking my 2025 Lariat and I’m keeping the ‘13. Thing is super nice, clean, and has a 6 speed transmission instead of this dumb 10 speed.

My fear is that our 2013 will get wrecked/stolen or suffer a catastrophic failure and w have to buy a replacement pickup.... between start/stop, fuel mgmt, nanny crap and cost, I would be searching hard and long for something older.
My favorite option on ours (Lariat FX-4 with Luxury pkg) is the 36 gallon fuel tank.
Downside of the truck is small payload (<1k lb).

Just traded my 2013 Ford Explorer Limited earlier this month. 290,000 miles and the engine was running probably the best it ever had.
Traded due to some nickel & dime issues with heating/AC, a bit of surface rust, and it was just time.
Got a 2020 Ford Explorer Limited. Nice vehicle with 88k miles. Will take this one to 300k if I can. Same engine, 3.0 L V6.
Don't know why people hate on Fords, always have run well for me.

My neighbor had one (red with barn doors) for sale in is driveway about 2 years ago. I saw it on my way to work one morning. Was asking $4500.00 It had 250,000 miles on it but he took good care of it. I was going to stop by and make him an offer when I came home from work but it was gone.
Sold a few hours after he put out in his driveway. Glad it was because my wife would have had a fit. I already have a 1984 F150 4x4 and a 99 Jeep Cherokee project.

Dont junk it. someone might pay 2000+ for it like it sits that already has the transmission.

Those Fords are their best trucks ever IMO. I bought one in 1997 then traded it in for a 2001 SuperCrew that I still have. I have always maintained it by the book. It has collected some scuffs and scrapes over the years but I would take off on a cross country trip to anywhere in it today.
