There are still lots of the late 90’s jellybean F150’s trundling around out there

Once you start noticing them you realize how many are still being used almost 30 years later. Or maybe my area is just poor.

Interestingly I don’t see the newer squared model that came after these that often.

They must reliable trucks, even if not good looking.

There's one like this in my town just parked. I'd love to get it and refresh it. One of my favorites.

1997 Ford F150 double cab flare side was the first vehicle I ever bought for myself.

I don’t see the same number as the old Fords. And I’m a Chevy guy.

Those 90s chevy trucks would easily run 300k with maintenance.

I never see them. Would love to own one though. That's an all time great body style. Previous gen Ford from what the OP posted is a nice one too.

They look fine.
Not running, but I still have a 1994 Ranger that I think is a doggone looking truck, with almost 200,000 on the clock that I'd like to get back up and running.

The most bulletproof truck of that era is the Nissan Hardbody. You *still* see these things all over the SE.

I hope you enjoy frame rust. GM could never be bothered to properly e-coat their frames. Instead they dipped the frames in wax which flakes off after about 10 years and then the frame gets covered in rust.

You don't see nearly as many of those as you do see late 90 Silverado's and Sierra 1500's

just saying

I'm a ford guy myself and think this 5.0 F150 is indestructible. I won't get rid of it until I absolutely must

We had a 2002 FX-4 Crew with over 200k miles then the electronics went wonky in 2017 or so (we were the 2nd owners). It had 5.4 2V.

It would randomly not recognize the keys. Tried new keys, and replaced ignition and other stuff I don't recall. Neither Ford nor an independent shop could fix it.

Traded it on a 2013 FX-4. Nicer more comfortable with more power. But I'd still rather have the 02 due to its relative simplicity.

My buddy had one of the Harley ones and we worked on a bunch of lightnings. Those things were such a PITA to work on.

people can say what they want but that generation and the next are some of the best trucks ford as ever made. Plenty of 4.6 and 5.4's still going out there.
