re: There are still lots of the late 90’s jellybean F150’s trundling around out there

My fear is that our 2013 will get wrecked/stolen or suffer a catastrophic failure and w have to buy a replacement pickup.... between start/stop, fuel mgmt, nanny crap and cost, I would be searching hard and long for something older.
My favorite option on ours (Lariat FX-4 with Luxury pkg) is the 36 gallon fuel tank.
Downside of the truck is small payload (<1k lb).

We had a 2002 FX-4 Crew with over 200k miles then the electronics went wonky in 2017 or so (we were the 2nd owners). It had 5.4 2V.
It would randomly not recognize the keys. Tried new keys, and replaced ignition and other stuff I don't recall. Neither Ford nor an independent shop could fix it.
Traded it on a 2013 FX-4. Nicer more comfortable with more power. But I'd still rather have the 02 due to its relative simplicity.

I second this.
Doesn't kink often, fairly lightweight, easy to coil and handle

Recommendations for cellular cam for rural home
Posted by TigersnJeeps on 8/16/26 at 9:37 pm
We live on 5 acres in a rural area. Our driveway is about 350 long and I would like to monitor it, esp when on vacation. We have some pine trees that are about 75-100 ft from the house. Home WiFi is weak at potential mounting locations plus cellular would potentially be available even if power lost.
Currently no other security cameras on the house.
Neighboring lot owner uses Moultrie. I have been looking at Tactacam.
We have decent ATT 5G signal. 2 bars on Iphone typically.
Appreciate any advice, suggestions or lessons learned

Which brand did you get?
Anyone use a grass timmer extended handle?
Posted by TigersnJeeps on 8/13/26 at 6:30 pm
I was looking at something like this... to make the use more comfortable.
Yeoman handle
The one above can adjust the angle, I have seen another that is a fixed angle but slides in/out instead.
Anyone use one and did it help?

re: Tesla Owners: What’s the Worst Part of Owning a Tesla?
Posted by TigersnJeeps on 8/11/26 at 6:00 pm to TimeOutdoors
I was the one that metnioned that.
Part of the issue I think is that a single site could have 2 larger (30amp/50amp) draws simultaneously that the individual power pedestals aren't designed for.... multiply that across multiple sites, and the whole system may be stressed. Newer or updated CGs may account for this but older ones may not.
I haven't seen it yet but it has been discussed....

Unfortunately, the spread of EVs using electricity which is usually free at a campground, may lead to metering of the individual sites.
At least from reading various camping/RV sites.
re: What Happened to Army Surplus Stores?
Posted by TigersnJeeps on 8/8/26 at 5:27 pm to Spankum
When I worked construction in the FL summers in the 80s while in college, I would hit the surplus store for Vietnam era/style jungle boots.
They worked great.
Used jump boots during winters in Iowa.
I go to a surplus store now to buy long pants for working in the yard etc. Mostly USAF BDUs in this area....

Are these features on all or most Flock cameras? Do they have to be enabled by the contracting organization - like a subscription?

So words on a board are responsible for individuals being marginalized.
How would you define "marginalized"? Is it an abstract where individuals have opinions about a segment of society yet have no direct impact on them?
Or is where individuals by physical action or enacting policy that prevents others from improving their station?
