I’ve been just looking around the last several years for a 1998 two door Tahoe. One day I will get one as it’s one of my attainable dream vehicles. There was a really nice one in Pelham a couple years ago with around 80k miles for $25k. It was a unicorn as most I see are all beat to hell

I see those 90’s Chevy trucks all the time though. The sweet spot for GM trucks was 95-06 imo. Right before they started with the cylinder deactivation crap. Those older 5.3’s and 5.7’s from the 90’s were great engines

Had a '95, broke my heart the day I sold it...

Looked just like this...

Had a 98 F150 up until a few years ago and sold it to a buddy of mine. He's looking to sell it and its taking all of my strength not to buy it back from him

Or maybe my area is just poor.

Kind of doesn't matter. The fact they can keep them going and still looking decent is a testament

I have a brand new 2026 quad cab with a 6.2 L engine in it. I would do an even swap title for title and still pay my note on my truck for that this blue truck.

Plenty of 4.6 and 5.4's still going out there.

The motor wasn't the problem, the transmissions are garbage.
My 2001 with a strong 5.4 is sitting in my yard. I still haven't decided if I want to put a third transmission in it or junk it.

They must reliable trucks, even if not good looking.

The two valve 4.6 and 5.3 were very reliable engines when taken care of. The bottom end was overbuilt for the power they made. And that resulted in longevity for these engines.

They got cocky with the 3 valve though. Trainwreck.

We had a 2002 FX-4 Crew with over 200k miles then the electronics went wonky in 2017 or so (we were the 2nd owners). It had 5.4 2V.

It would randomly not recognize the keys. Tried new keys, and replaced ignition and other stuff I don't recall. Neither Ford nor an independent shop could fix it

I had an 02 with the 5.4 triton. I drove it up to around 250k and gave it to my nephew who took it up to 300k before swapping out the engine due to the rear main seal leaking. The motor was still fine though. He just found a cheap low mileage one.

Traded it on a 2013 FX-4. Nicer more comfortable with more power. But I'd still rather have the 02 due to its relative simplicity

I also moved up to a 2013 F150 with the 5.0 Coyote. Still have it and have around 180k on it I think.

Those 90s chevy trucks would easily run 300k with maintenance.

My son has a '92 with 300+k miles, 350 motor, the good Trans, and he has never had a problem. He has re-upholstered the seats, and changed one taillight. Been a dumb good urn.

Did you know that they had 3 years of production of an 7 lug F250 in that body style?

I've never heard them referred to as "jellybean". I wasn't a fan of the look of these.
