so if you conduct a legit business that grosses $500k, and you report it, you've got no problem with your competitor a few blocks away that grosses the same but reports maybe $30-40k?

Several travel baw tournament hosts don’t even take cash at the door for entry.

You're full 'a shite. I've never once had anyone refuse cash.
I’ve had it happen to me on separate occasions at the grocery store. Forgot what their excuse was but it happens.

It seems commonplace at concession stands. There’s vendors in the dome that will tell you card only.

Globe Life Field (Texas Rangers) requires tickets on smart device and does not accept cash anywhere in the facility. There are reverse ATMs to turn cash into a card if needed.

I've NEVER had cash turned down when paying for anything I've ever bought.

Now, I know of a few places where cash is the only form of payment they take, mainly restaurants.

Mosca's and Casamento's immediately comes to mind----unless they've changed their policy in the last couple years.

So what’s the point of calling it legal tender?

It is a little confusing but a business in the US must accept payment in dollars but they don't have to accept cash. When you pay with a credit card, debit card, or check you are paying in dollars. A business can not require you to pay in rubles or BTC.

to acknowledge the gov uses and accepts it.
private individuals/businesses dont have to accept or use it other than paying taxes to the gov.

At Bayou Beer Garden in midcity, you don’t even get a menu now. You scan a QR code with your phone and it directs to the menu website, where you pick what you want and pay from the phone too.

Of course I wouldn't be happy if my margins could be 30% better, but again, the guy up the street paying less doesn't make you pay more.

Sounds like thats the game in dry cleaning. I'd probably head to albasha's, get a combo salad and a tax attorney contact.

Cite the code section... to save you time you can't because it is legal to not take cash payments.

People on this board really love to make up shite about how difficult everyday life things are.

Hey, how much were the chicken tenders? Tell me about how expensive it was at the drive-thru and how the employees treated you.

Pobrecito.
