I was very bullish on oil back in November/December when everyone was calling for a multi-year glut. Wish I had more conviction.
Right now it is too choppy and risky to bet on the price direction. Only trumps inner circle is able to make money on oil futures.
But yes, I intend to dip my toes back in oil if a peace deal is announced and oil drops into the low 80s or lower. Any news driven pop will get beaten the other way on reality of the lack of inventories.
The next thing to watch out for is demand destruction from prolonged higher gasoline/energy prices which may curb consumer demand overall.

Just happy to be beating the indices. Wish it was higher but I’ll keep chipping away at it. Hopefully OUST and DUOT are the real deal.

Glad I bought the dip yesterday.
re: Why is the post office slower than ever these days?

I walked in a post office at noon on a Monday and mailed a small Mother’s Day package “Priority Mail” from Louisiana to Florida. 1 to 3 business-day service, right? So not counting Monday, that would be Thursday at the latest.
It arrived on Saturday. Priority Mail…In the USPS standard box…Saturday. Barely beat Mother’s Day.
Normal post used to be five days. Now, that’s “priority”. Sheesh.

I exited today. The market is moving up. No time for laggards.

Still running up!
If oil prices remain high

Will we see a big push in the used motor oil recycling industry? Since many people take their cars in to a five minute franchise - or change oil at home and bring it to an auto parts store - shouldn't it be easy to get it back to a refiner who could reprocess the oil?
I did some looking and Clean Harbors (CLH) - via Safety Kleen subsidiary - is the biggest motor oil recycler in the US. I didn't see any other publicly traded companies in this realm.
What are thoughts on this angle? Personally, I think oil will remain high especially if the economy keeps clicking. Crude demand will stay up and supply is super tight, even after the war premium goes away.
Not talking bio fuels. Specifically, motor oil recycling opportunities and viability.

Between DUOT and OUST, which has the best near-term upside opportunity?
Without all this crap spending, taxpayers would probably only owe 1/4th of our current tax burden. It’s disgusting.
Some merit to this logic to avoid being blown to smithereens while the markets are closed. We all know Trump doesn’t like bombing Iran during the trading week.

$5 rotisserie chickens
Right now the gas is almost 30¢ a gallon cheaper than the next closest station.
I’ve also bought tires there with tire warranty package. So many awesome deals.

Looks like the latest deal is off too.

BREAKING: Iran's Foreign Ministry now officially confirms that no Iranian nuclear commitments and uranium handover exist or will exist in any draft agreement with the US, calling all reports that claim otherwise a "pure lie," making further talks pointless due to the US insistence on this issue. Based on that issue, the statement declares "we are not signing any agreement with the US" and "no one can claim we are close to reaching an agreement." Iran separately stated to Tasnim they are now on the verge of "cancelling" the negotiations completely.

Isn’t she from Nashville?
It’s not like she’s from Fifth Avenue or something.
Plus now, everything they do in public is all theater to increase their bank accounts.

Pitching shows up, offense doesn’t
Giving up 5 runs over 17 innings. That’s winnable pitching. Should be playing on Friday.

Anyone playing the bond market?
Posted by TDFreak on 5/19/26 at 7:12 pm
A lot of yield movement recently. Is anyone making trades to squeeze some gains from bonds?
Personally looking at SJB if high risk yields continue to climb.
