re: The "downfall of EV's" appears to be propaganda and overhyped

Define “minimal repairs”. My last ICE Accord had the starter go out. Twice. Sold it before it stranded me again.
Two starters.
T&Ps sent.

How often do the batteries need to be replaced? I’ve heard that is a major expense.

Yeah, how silly that the US keeps poorly made, unsafe, government-subsidized EV's out of our market. You poors are hilarious in your lack of awareness.

Every 300-400k miles.

I've always had a regular truck so I can pull boats, side by sides, and other things I haul,
but I'm very glad that we now have what seems like an alternative energy source to power our vehicles and I'm glad people are buying them.
Oil is just too vulnerable to world politics and so doesn't give us a reliable supply. Just think how much worse it would be right now if the world were still 100% ICE. 3rd world countries would really have us by the short hairs.
And I've sided with scientists on the issue of global warming vs the GED oil hands out there.

The batteries die. Used electric cars are almost worthless
It only cost Hertz $3 billion to learn that lesson.

Looks like Tesla warranty covers 100,000 to 150,000 if battery loses 70% of capacity.

$1k for the first and was going to be $2k for the second because they had to change the flywheel. I’ve had absolutely nothing go wrong with my hybrid.
And yet the ignorant want to pretend as though it’s hybrids and EVs full of finicky, easy to fail parts.

Warranty and performance are two very different things. My GX460 only had a 50k mile warranty. Just remember warranties are determined more by accountants and lawyers than engineers.
The data is pointing to 300k on the bottom end cases with heavy fast charging/range anxiety and 400k for units properly cared for. Tesla has a ton of data on it at this point and we’ve been using PowerWall data to support the claims.

Tesla is doing well but GM and Ford just had lousy quarters because of their declines in EV sales. Maybe its because their EVs suck or maybe its because the govt isnt bribing people to buy them any more.
They are years behind Tesla and no one comes close to Tesla in regards to autonomous (supervised) driving.
I bought mine a little over a year ago and I was not even shopping or considering a Tesla, it's just the more I researched vehicles the more I realized this was the best bang for my buck. It has been the most enjoyable vehicle I have ever had, and I do not regret it at all.

Electric vehicles are gay as hell.

I bought a hybrid SUV over the summer. I didn’t set out to buy one, kinda just happened. But I can honestly say, it’s one of the better decisions I’ve made in recent years. I’ve been thoroughly impressed and the gas mileage is insane.

Will be definitely getting an EV for the wife when it’s time in the next 1-2 years.
You can't even afford a used Dodge truck you have been looking at for the past 3 years

Hybrids or EVs are the better choice for probably 90%+ of the consumer population.
It's fine to have that opinion, but let's let them decide and not have the government decide for them by trying to pick winners
