I'm not an EV guy at all but, I agree with him.

If you only drive around town (Soccer Mom) an EV is really a better option. My wife has a Lincoln Aviator Hybrid. When she drives around town, to work errands, etc.. She gets ridiculous "MPG" compared what she gets when the charge is used up.

This has saved alot in fuel costs. I wish now we would have gone full EV for her.

It's fine to have that opinion, but let's let them decide and not have the government decide for them by trying to pick winners

I think government shouldn’t be picking winners and losers in anything, at all. No tax deductions or subsidies for anything whatsoever. Do you agree?

I can be back to 100% "full" in 3 minutes. That count?

Of course, but only if you’re intentionally being extremely dishonest and plucking out small portions of quotes that remove the obvious context. Because I’m so helpful, here was the full quote:

He said for driving around town. If you never drive beyond the range of a single charge, ICE has functionally zero advantages over an EV and tons of drawbacks.

And with that context added, no, it doesn’t count at all

I love the Model S Plaid and the Rivian but they are so bad for the environment

I have a Ford Lightning. It's lost little battery capacity in three years. Read an article that described the life of vehicle could reach forty hears at half the battery capacity. If my battery breaks, that's another story. I love that truck unless I have to tow a boat 150 miles.

I keep seeing people say they are great around town vehicles and they are, but I think people seem to think they are a problem for long trips. I find I take long trips more frequently because if them, My mom is 430 miles away and I can stop once to charge (at bass pro shop) and not even touch the steering wheel once on the trip. The interaction with the built in grok app allows me to fund hidden gems along the way and learn a little history on the area. While going to lunch today I asked it to list festivals 100-200 miles away this weekend and after selecting ones I asked what other interesting things are along the route, etc. I love being able to pay more attention to the surroundings I just know I am enjoying road trips more and taking more road trips since I got the Tesla.
