# Texas Freshman Edge Rusher Could Miss Remainder Of Season With Injury

Texas could be without freshman edge rusher Richard Wesley for the remainder of the regular season, according to a report from OrangeBloods' Anwar Richardson.

Wesley suffered a high ankle sprain and has already been ruled out for Saturday's matchup against Ole Miss.

Richardson reported Thursday that there are concerns Wesley could miss the rest of the regular season, although the team remains focused on his recovery.

The news comes as Texas is also dealing with an injury to star defensive end Colin Simmons, who is listed as doubtful against Ole Miss with a high ankle sprain.

Wesley, a former five-star recruit from California, was ranked as the No. 6 edge rusher in the 2026 recruiting class, according to the 247Sports Composite rankings.

He has appeared in four games this season, recording seven tackles.

Texas will look to avoid its third straight loss when the Longhorns host Ole Miss on Saturday.
