Masks are to prevent (supposedly) people from getting COVID. Masks don't have a damn thing to do with the survival rates of people that have contracted the disease.

I’m not one of those who thinks this was a nefarious test run in government control.

But for the nefarious types who would like the government to control things, it was a good test run.

They certainly now know the people and places that will roll over for them and where they’ll get push back.

No one's saying that covid is nothing at all. They are saying it has been blown out of proportion, dramatized, and taken way too far when the actual #'s are considered.

Covid is a virus that will always be with us, it will never vanish or cease to exist. The alarmist restrictions that are still in place in many areas over reach and people are sick and fricking tired of it. People have been educated on this shite and they can police themselves and let the rest of us get back to normal.

I don't know if there's a better/easier source, but I get it from this page, about 3/4 down the page there is a flu mortality chart. You can click "View Chart Data" to get a direct link to the most recent data in CSV format. It breaks out P&I from all deaths, but there is still an all deaths column. Load it up into a spreadsheet and calculate whatever you want. Note: the most recent 6-8 weeks of data is always incomplete. In other words, the current data has up to week 37, but only up to week 32 or so is even reasonably complete.
