re: Ranking the SEC in terms of BBQ

Posted by Landmass on 5/22/26 at 12:12 pm to
The worst thing to happen to bbq was the sweet Kansas city red sauce. Classic Memphis sauce is a tangy red but a lot of places started going to that sweet shite because of corporate confusion and America's diet of sugar overabundance because of fatasses.

Players wanted a piece of the pie. Now they are eating the whole damn pie. There will be no pie left soon.

This is true. Donor fatigue will set in soon at most places. It's ok to chunk millions to win some games in the short-term but long-term the money folks will not be so willing to continue to sink funds into a financial hole of which there is no return on investment.

You can't help yourself, can you?

I'm surprised that you left off the "dumpster program" response.
I'm sure the 18-22 year olds will be quick to turn down 6 and 7 figure paychecks because a bunch of old political idiots told them to do so.

Go check out Jackson Dart his first season under Kiffin. He was absolute arse.

No he wasn't. He was a young QB in a new system. He had some mistakes but he also had flashes of brilliance.

Kiffin and Weiss had enough confidence in him to make him a priority. I’ll trust their evaluations over Landmass.

He was a priority because he was about the only decent transfer portal QB left and your QB room had cobwebs growing in it.

I think the 2025 stats are somewhat meaningless because he got injured in like week 4.

Otherwise, he's probably being a little overhyped, just due to potential and not necessarily actual performance.

Looking at 2024, he threw for 2900 yards and 24 touchdowns. Ran for about 450 and 5 more touchdowns.

Hopefully he can make a Jayden Daniels-esque leap.

Thanks Sidewalk. This does explain it a little more.

Yes you do

No, I really don't. He's average at best.
His stats for 2025 were:

1,628 yards (107th nationally)
10 TDs (103rd nationally)
65.8 QBR (49th nationally)
3 INTs (Tied 6th nationally [only good stat])
...and he lost to Mississippi State last season

I'm sure he will improve under CWJ but to be in the top half of the SEC, that would have to be a hell of a jump.

We went to the tournament championship game. We will be 2 and done in the regional this season.

Is this why he is hated by his fellow Seals?

I don't know what it is about this team. Our fielding improved. Our pitching improved. Our hitting tanked. We are clearly a worse team than last season but with most of the same guys.

Thought so, just wanted to be sure. I was thinking about the different rivalries and in almost every case the in-state rival outweighs the border war type rivalries. There are exceptions but seems like most border war rivalries are heavier on one side. (For example: Bama is UT's biggest rival but Auburn is Bama's biggest rival.)
Kiffin can shove it up his arse for all I care. I just want to move on from him and the a-hole keeps picking a fight. frick that guy.

The funniest thing has been watching the vast majority of national media blast him every time he attacks us.

He really has given us some damn good press, to be honest.
Is it the FSU game or WLOCP?

Seems like most of the guys I know from Florida hate FSU the most, but maybe that's also a panhandle specific thing.
