Texas is trying to co-opt Louisiana culture right?

From 1900 - 2000 Texas was steers and queers along with a dash of chilli powder.
BUT since 2000 “Texans” have been trying to stave off the “chilli” powder with a dash of “cajun” spices. From Houston to Galveston there has been a werid split in the state.
Texans don’t want to talk about it, but there is a significant separating of the entire state right?

Its because of the large influx of people from Louisiana moving to TX. It is staggering, over 10,000 families moved from Louisiana to TX last year alone.
We live in Cypress, NW Houston, and basically every corner has something with cajun in the title. You have people moved here from LA 20 years ago to about a few days ago. Many like Louisiana and enjoy anything with a slight semblance of home.

Have noticed this as well- it is very similar to mobile claiming the same level of culture as Nola.
Had some crawfish in Houston one time and they were terrible. You could tell they had been previously frozen, over boiled and tonys on the outside.. Disgusting.

This thought had never occurred to me. Both states are awesome IMO and both states have some really shitty parts.
One interesting thing about both is that different regions of each state can feel completely different:
- Shreveport is nothing like BR, BR is nothing like NOLA, none of them are anything like Mandeville etc.
- Houston and Dallas are very different, while Galveston and Amarillo might as well be different planets
if the US were to balkanize for some reason, I'd seriously hope and pray that LA and TX would unite.

Well Louisiana has spent the last century making it as unappealing as possible to stay in the state so Texas has been an easy move for those tired of the same old shite which has influenced parts of Texas
