I don’t understand the dislike that Louisiana has for Texas, or Texas for Louisiana.
I spent some of the best years of my life in BR. With that said, stats show LA is more dangerous, worse in education, worse when it comes to finding jobs, and has a bad infrastructure.
I wish Louisiana would find a way to fix it, but the govt is too fricked up. I wish the people there would have something MORE to take pride in than culture. It’s unfortunate, and an issue that exposes the decades of corruption that has endured.
So...why does this get projected as a dislike to Texas? Texas has absolutely nothing to do with Louisiana’s faults.

it's not really hatred or dislike for texas itself. it's the broke dick losers on this site who shite on louisiana whenever possible, but live in places like the houston or dallas suburbs

Income is a pretty big thing, isn’t it? How it impacts my life? My place of work is safer. My retirement plan in this state is MUCH better, which gives me much less stress in the grand scheme of things. My city is safer. I can walk the streets of downtown without constantly looking over my shoulder. Great food all around. You are a complete fool if you act like income and taxes are not important enough to be mentioned.

The only thing we have to really hold onto in terms of culture is stuff you make turds out of and easy attitudes about drinking. That's really it.
You really want to know for instance what New Orleans brings to the table that other cities don't? No last call and you can walk the streets with a frickin' drink in your hand. That's really why people come here but we lie to ourselves though and make noises about all this "culture" bullshite.
You can find festivals and shite anywhere in this country and everyone likes to have a good time. None of that's unique to Louisiana but of course we need to believe it is. It's how we reconcile with this under developed, 3rd world state we live in.

id rather live in florida, north carolina, tennesee, new meixco, but texas has more jobs, and i think i could find a hot wife who is white, asian, latina, or indian. maybe black.

I have a friend who left Louisiana after high school. The company he worked for moved him to Missouri, Georgia, Cincinnati (lived in Kentucky), Missouri again, Utah and then Alexandria Louisiana. He then retired and moved to the Conroe/Willis area north of The Woodlands.
That guy could talk your head off for hours about the advantages of not living in Louisiana.
He normally just texts me. One morning I get a call from him and he is all excited. I asked him what the hell is going on and he tells me he and his wife had been out driving around to check out the new neighborhood.
He was ecstatic because there were 8 infrastructure projects going on at that time and all were within a 4-mile radius of his house. He was beside himself and could not believe it.
They were building an entirely new electrical plant, rebuilding a levy and increasing water capacity at another plant across from the RV park my BIL and sister are members of, two different roads were being repaved (not potholes filled in they tore every bit of old asphalt up and started from scratch - great roads now and they were better than most in La before they even started - they wanted to widen them), and that is what I remember.
So yeah, if you have lived in Shitholeville your whole life you don't know any better. If you have lived all over the county and then wind up in Louisiana for 3 years you realize how bad it actually sucks and can't wait to get the "F" out.
Nothing against the people they and I love the people of Louisiana. It is EVERYTHING else that sucks and should be blown up and rebuilt from scratch less the corrupt politicians.

There are miles and miles of area in West Texas that doesn't have any people. It's a desert and a canyon and prairies and plains and mountains. There is a tower in I think El Paso that you can climb and see two countries and three states.
