The point that we’re making and that you’re missing is that if you make a good living in Louisiana, the benefits of living in Texas are minimized. Sure, it’s probably better to be poor in Texas than it is in Louisiana. But if you have a solid career in Louisiana, the “perk” of having more jobs in Texas is minimized. Also, if you can afford private school, the educational “perk” of living in Texas is minimized (especially if you want to live in a city, because in that case you’ll have to pay for private school in Texas too).

I’m not missing it at all. You are correct. We aren’t talking about individual living situations. This thread wasn’t person x vs person x.

You Texas people are the only ones doing that. Outside of Austin and some mountains ten hours from civilization, Texas is bland flyover country, no different than Indiana or Kansas. If you aren’t very financially motivated it’s just a very meh place to live.

So...are you one of the poors you keep referring too? I guess you aren’t financially motivated. You aren’t yet in your mid-30’s, you live in Massachusetts, but because you lived in Dallas for two years and had a meh experience, you are on a crusade against Texas.
Living in Dallas can probably be a bland experience. It’s not exactly a cultural hub like Shreveport or Lake Charles.
