That is estimated and I dont believe it

And the problem is that the uninsured are statistically more likely to get in accidents because they suck at driving like they suck at life

Mine jumped up when my kids hit 16 but nothing like what you guys talk about. I raised my deductibles to $2k and for 4 autos full coverage is about $3k/year. I think it was going to be $4k with $500 deductibles.

Allstate with discounts for having an e-policy and auto pay in full.

My neighbor is in the insurance biz and also told me not to add my son when he gets his license. Said as long as the car is covered on our policy that he'd be ok.
We're with Progressive now, paying $320 a month, will jump to $650 just for adding him without a vehicle.

If this is true, frick all insurance companies. Bunch of Got Danged thieves.

It's 100% not true. Maybe one or two crappy companies not worth the paper their policies are printed on do that but that is not an industry standard.

Just give him $400/mt for uber/lyft

$13/day will not go far with Uber. Even if you consider a $300 note and $200 fuel costs, that's only $30/day.

Perhaps a scooter?

Y’all need to find better friends. So, when little Johnny totals your car and a 100k Range Rover b/c he was texting what the hell you think will happen? You realize the company can tell you to go get fricked right? B/c they will find out little Johnny has had his license for the entire time and you chose to lie about it.

Get them a less expensive, paid off, but reliable car. Then pay for liability and uninsured motorist only. You will probably need to exclude them from your other cars if you can. Full coverage on an inexperienced driver with a car that’s still being paid off will be expensive everywhere.

Yeah and what happens when the little shite rear ends somebody because he’s texting and totals their brand new vehicle out? You think they’re just gonna fork out $50k when you’re trying to get by without adding your kid?

In other states, like Nevada, it'd probably be $65.00. But where there is rampant CORRUPTION, particularly with our insurance overseers, the cost is ridiculous. Not to mention our education system which produces jurors who want everything for free and passed that forward. Lawyers can be real SCUMBAGS too.

Why does it matter if the car is paid off or not? Isn't the exposure on the property determined by the fmv of the vehicle?

Buy an old vehicle & just put liability on it. My parents did this for my brother when he had a new truck. It was cheaper to buy a $1000 truck & put just liability than to add him with his new truck.

Lien holder might require certain limits for liability other than requiring comp/collision.

Minors can't own movibles in Louisiana so this isn't going to work with DMV or any insurance company. You are also not moving the liability since any junior Gordon attorney will see that you are still claiming your 17-18 yo on taxes for that earned income credik.
Some of these ideas are so retarded it's scary.
Don't buy your kid a new car, Don't buy your kid a sports car. List them as a driver on the auto without physical damage. Those in Louisiana bitchin should support Tort Reform next year. Louisiana has the second highest auto insurance rates in the nation due to attorneys.

Have car in your name. You are some driver. If something happens they just had to borrow your car
