re: Bay St. Louis Restaurants?

The Nicaud joints are hit and miss…. Meaning Field’s and the Bacchus chain.
Thorny Oyster is solid, we ate there a few weeks ago…. Hooks isn’t terrible, but not as good as it used to be.
Sycamore House may be an option… depending on closer to fine dining.
I’ve had a couple of good steaks at Whiskey Prime in the Pass.
There is a little joint called Radish in Long Beach. I’ve had lunch there a few times and it was good. That’s a bit of a drive though.
Then there are TBT and Shaggys for bar food.

re: need a recommendation for a good bottle of Tequila (for a gift)

Fortaleza if you can find it. The corked tops are handmade with the intention of being reused.
El Tesoro is fantastic and if you want a special run, most places will have a bottle or 2 that is in the $100-$200 range.
Tequila Ocho, Organic 1,2,3
Mijenta, Volvan, G4 and several others in that $50-$80.
All of these are quality tequilas with no additives like Don Julio, Casmigos and several of the bottles being recommended in this thread. You’re paying for marketing, pretty bottles and shite tequila.

The National has some open times around the current tee times we have…
Is it worth going over there?
For the it’s hot people…. It’s a guys weekend, we don’t give a frick. Just getting a bonus round in on Friday. Cold beer and boudin on the way and Darryl’s for lunch.

Well that sucks.
Playing the Nugget on Saturday.
This is just reaffirming why we haven’t been out there in years.

Making a run to Lake Chuck and it’s one of the courses we’re playing. Just curious…. I haven’t seen much on it.
re: No. 5 Situation: LSU should do this

Pretty sure LSU has a policy to not retire numbers.
They retire jerseys….
They’ll put him on the circle next to Burrow.
If a statue is in the works…. I’d assume Burrow gets one. Daniels doesn’t, he didn’t win the SEC or Natty.

Pretty sure LSU only retires “jerseys” now. No more retired numbers and has only done so for a minute…
Hence, the retirement of Bert Jones jersey…. Not his number

If you’re taking clients, you better call soon for a reservation. That goes for Supper Club too.
The food and service has been pretty good and steady for the last couple of years.
We live on that side of town…. We usually hit up Ruffinos on Fridays for the big games. It’s always packed.

It’s the Bandon Dunes guys. It’s going to be top notch once they have it finished.
Went to Bandon a couple of years ago and have an opportunity to go again next year.

re: Where to buy brisket flat in Baton Rouge
Posted by HebertFest08 on 7/31/26 at 8:23 am to Tiger In the Swamp
Damn near any local grocery store in BR.
Rouses, calandros, Alexander’s if you’re on the south side.
If you want better quality meat you can try Iverstines or The Meatatory. If they don’t have one, I’m sure they’d cut you one.
If you’re doing a flat…. Try to buy prime or better.

The Kinders stuff is good, I grabbed some of the brown sugar and honey I think at Costco the other day on the way to the camp. It ain’t bad at all.
Its no where close to the Blues Hog OG or Blues Hog Competition Sauces if you can find it. Another one to try is Heath Riles…. Both can be found at Academy.

I remember the first time I walked into that joint.
He was writing checks out of that big “business” check book at the counter.
I definitely inconvenienced him…. And he let me know it.
I kept going back. The meatball sub was money.

The Alexander Valley Cab is good and one of the Pinots too. I just can’t remember if it’s the Willamette or Russian River one that I had last time.
I buy them when there are going to be a bunch of folks over at the camp.
The Kirkland “France” vodka is pretty good… considering you spend $21 on 1.75 litres.

re: Pleasant Surprise. Learned Spice Junction is the new Swagat

I asked the guy at Aroma and he confirmed.
He was pretty specific with regards to what changed. All I know is the Rogan Josh is fantastic and the honey chili cauliflower is good too.
I think I recognized the lady that came out the back and checked on us too.
shite…. Maybe there was a split of owners.

I thought the new swaggat was Aroma on Lee.
I heard that on here I think and I asked the guy who sat us. He confirmed it and he said they did a tweaking of all the recipes.
It’s fantastic. The lady loves it.

Oh yeh…. Get the lube ready. It’s kind of a double edged sword…. You want the wind to blow to keep the gnats off of you…. But you don’t want it to blow because it can eat your lunch out there.
If it’s blowing 15-20 coming off the water it can get a tad rough. It’s basically blowing across you on every hole. It’s almost always in great shape though.

re: Is it common place now for H.S. baseball teams to partner with travel ball organizations?

quote:
It keeps their teams together while developing for next high school season and it still allows for the top prospects to play another month in July away from their high school teams
I think that’s a liberal explanation for…
You either pay and play for this team or you don’t play for the high school team. Same shite for Dutchtown as it is for Catholic. No one will admit it, but anyone looking from the outside in can see it plain as day.
Same shite with soccer.
re: When are football season tickets available?

Yeh…. It’s been all over the place. That’s why I was asking.
Put in for a game and were told they were sent out…. Then find out they didn’t.
Generally get what we want, so we were like wtf is going on.

The notifications for away games…. Are those for the ones that season ticket holders put in for?
