I had fun the couple of times I went. Wouldn't go out of my way to do it, though. Lighten up and have some fun, quit worrying about what the other folks who do it look like.

for a work event we went to an axe throwing place in Louisville and I threw the axe once, said that was stupid, and then sat around waiting for the event to be over so I could leave.

You call the people who participate in axe throwing “soy boys” but you’re the one too afraid to leave an event you don’t want to be at.

Axe throwing is in the same realm of darts, billiards and bowling. A game of skill that takes little effort while you drink. If you can’t make it in to a good time, the problem may be you.

What's the appeal of throwing darts? Same thing only bigger.

I guarantee you're stepping on a lot of steel toes, but you won't have them bite.

Having said that, throwing an axe is a hell of a lot more masculine than driving an Audi TT and letting an ice cream cake ruin hiding from a couple of mexican chicks.

I think of that scene in the patriot where his revenge sort of kicks off.

I’ve done it once. Had a great time. Not likely to ever do it on my own suggestion, but might go again if invited by the right group. These places won’t last.

I’m not into ax throwing either, but this could be said about anyone’s hobby.
I’ve played golf, and enjoyed it. I don’t play anymore though. But I can see how someone thinks the idea of trying to hit a ball into a hole from hundreds of yards away could be dumb.

You guys let hipsters/soy boys take over everything with no recourse.

Talk about weak.

Beards, Axe Throwing, Baseball hats, Yard work, Music, etc.

You hang out with a group of friends and have some drinks. Grab dinner together afterwards. It's just something a little different than you would normally do.

I've done it once and had fun. I would do it again, but I don't see it being a regular activity, at least for my group of friends.

Sorry you don’t know how to properly throw an axe.

Explain the point of golf. Tiny ball. Tiny hole. Let’s separate them by a few hundreds yards.

Hit ball, find it, hit ball, find ball, repeat, hit in hole. Do that again 18 more times...yes. I suck at golf. Sounds like you have something stuck in your throat. GOLF

He is way too miserable about it, but I am truly surprised enough people want to go axe throwing for there to be a business scene about it

Like do I think it sounds ok to throw an axe? sure, but I cant believe there are so many people that actually want to seek out doing it that there are businesses that survive on it. Im thinking its a new money laundering scene

I mean they serve alcohol yes

It sill doesnt change my premise. It surprises me there are enough people that want to seek out a place where they can pay more money while they drink in order to throw axes

I can't explain the appeal.

But I would think opening an axe throwing facility in NBR would be an interesting endeavor.
