Intriguing topic.

Next we shall explore the reasons some people enjoy playing darts or bowling.

same premise as bowling IMO

I've always hated the idea of having a forced activity when I hang out with people (its why I hate bowling), but apparently plenty of people enjoy it

but cant see making an evening of it.

These fads are usually short lived anyway. Used to be some really unique venues prior social media.

I can see throwing an axe could be fun, but I certainly wouldn't choose a venue because of it. I have participated in a contest at a festival, I sucked.

Except bowling is a sport/pastime that humans are accustomed to

Unless you are arguing axe throwing will become as mainstream and regulated as bowling, I dont see the comparison. I dont see the staying power of the axe throwing arena

I said the premise was the same, not that it would have the same staying power or whatever

Lots of people defensive about axe throwing here.

I wouldn't have thought Axe throwing would be such a passionate pastime

nuance people

Those are established old games wrapped into the fabric of human culture

Throwin an axe is as random as kicking a cone and starting a bar around it

It sill doesnt change my premise. It surprises me there are enough people that want to seek out a place where they can pay more money while they drink in order to throw axes

It seems like a one time novelty. I would be interested in how many return customers these places have. I would guess it's pretty low.

there was a time when those games weren't established old games

you're literally arguing for the end of innovation when it comes to drinking pastimes

Relieves stress that builds up and, if not relieved, can result in an irrational pedestrian-rage incident in Las Vegas.

Correct

And I am sure at the time people thought it was retarded to spend money to go roll a ball at a pin and this will not have staying power. Those people were wrong

I am of the opinion it seems strange to want to pay money to go do this new endeavor of throwing axes. So thats why I think this will die and not become like bowling or darts

Your opinion differs, and the world goes round

Nope, keep trying. Cornhole is an example of one that stuck around. I just dont see this one of axe throwing sticking.

It allows soys to do an activity that seems masculine on the surface to impress women, but really isn't that masculine and makes them look like fools unless they are really smooth doing it.

Or maybe some friends invited them and they're out having a couple drinks and being social. You okay?

A shite ton of bars have cornhole, however it’s free. Also I see it played at multiple tailgates as well for all LSU games

I’m of the opinion I won’t see axe throwing at tailgates, and it won’t make it to a lot of bars

Feel free to disagree and have the opinion axe throwing will become like cornhole or darts

What kind of axe is this, I have not heard of such events in modern America.

I would love to kill an enemy with an axe. I read this from Procupius the Byzantine historian about the Franks the other day and was inspired.

quote:

...each man carried a sword and shield and an axe. Now the iron head of this weapon was thick and exceedingly sharp on both sides while the wooden handle was very short. And they are accustomed always to throw these axes at one signal in the first charge and thus shatter the shields of the enemy and kill the men.

Thats kinda the point....

Most drinking games that have staying power are easily done and cheap to pull off. Darts, cornhole, horseshoes, etc

Axe throwing seems a little different.....
