No. I'm saying the first coach firing of the season seems to be a few weeks earlier this year. I don't give a shite at all who Maryland has or hasn't played.

Without that embarrassing loss to Bama, we go into the next season with a national championship against Ok St, and we have a reasonable chance of beating Bama. That arse kicking embarrassment for the whole country to see drained the gas out of the program. Miles had no shot of beating Bama again. And those consequences by whatever happened in that locker room that night never happen. I can see Miles holding on a few years longer. We were still recruiting on a high level and another natty would have improved on that. The question would have been "How many years would they give him, with 2 natties, to hire a modern day OC and let him work.

This year SEC pairs with Acc. Top 1-8 (at end of season not playoffs) against their top 1-8 in randomly drawn games, and bottom 9-16 vs 9-16. I think ACC has 17 so last place that doesn't get in the challenge. But draw it at a bowl selection show in December so teams can know and focus on logistics.

This is where I think higher education has failed in the country.
Let the State Universities have your Big degrees. Have regional Community colleges for cheaper 2 year classes for people to get their English, History, etc that are outside of their degree.
And have smaller colleges handling the unique specialties and not over lap
Go go a private college and pay yourself if you want an art degree, gender studies, or how to be poor for the rest of your life degrees.

I played eight years in the trenches. Those knee pads 100 percent make a difference when a helmet or facemask is diving down at your knee. It might not prevent a twist or structure damage, but it damn well lessen the pain if a facemask/helmet is slamming against it.
