Feel like I saw one when I was little from like half a mile away in California. There was a road on a ridge and there was a bear in the flower field at the bottom of the valley. Dozens of people were at the edge of the flower field taking pictures. We just continued driving

I saw about 50 in Chicago once. Very docile. Played dead for 4 quarters.

I was waiting for a reference to the chicago bears.
Grew up in the woods of south Louisiana. Saw weasels, foxes, skunks etc.. but never a bear.

A tagged black bear took up residence in our backyard in Missoula for awhile.

Missoula was where i saw bear when i referenced my original post.

I've seen them in Alaska, North Carolina and Georgia but never in Louisiana.

There's a Facebook page on Louisiana bear sightings and they're pretty common up in the NE Louisiana swamps off the Ouachita and Tensas Rivers.

They raid deer feeders regularly.

Middle of the day walking around on the side of hwy 90 west in Patterson, La

My brother use to live in that area and the bears would get in his trash can at night and wreck shite even with a bear lock on the can.

One ran across the road about 150 feet in front of us when we were headed to Eureka Springs. I swear that thing looked to be the size of a VW and was booking it.

Went on a cruise to Alaska. We pulled over to the side of the road because there were a few people out their cars looking at a bear. We got out and took pictures with it like 100 feet in the background. A ranger came speeding up to tell us we are nuts and get tf back in our cars. Good times.

I've seen grizzlies several times in Denali. the first time i was backpacking deep in the backcountry and we spotted our first grizz way across a valley (probably 500+ yards away). the bear definitely knew we were there, but he just moseyed along. that was the only one i've seen where i was on foot in the wild. i saw them a couple other times from the bus catching rides in and out of the park.

I was about 5 or so minutes from seeing one last weekend in Alaska. The people in front of me had a dog with a bell on its collar and they came across it on the trail but it ran off pretty quick

I'm perfectly ok not having seen him since I had nothing to scare him off with

Always wanted to see a Louisiana bear but never have

Saw a ton at Cold Lakes Weapons Range, AB. 3 in upstate NY while bow hunting. 1 behind a gas plant in Calumet, LA, 1 in Woodville and 1 in Morganza.

Was turkey hunting 2 years ago and I was right behind one, never caught a glimpse of him. But I looked down at one point and his track was filling with water.

A few years back when I traveled throughout Georgia for work I was sitting at one of the picnic tables at the water park in Helen after hours drinking a couple beers and I saw what I thought at first was a dog but then realized a bear running alongside the river on the other side.

Then it decided to cross the river to my side probably not much more than 50 feet from me. I was definitely worried because if it had hooked a left when it climbed the bank I was going to be in a bit of a pickle I would imagine.

Luckily it just shot straight across the parking lot and the road into the woods. It took my heart awhile to stop beating too fast, that's for sure

we have about 25 of them on our 2500acre deer lease in avoyelles parish. they really are a nuisance, with no natural predators.

Cool! These photos being posted are beautiful. I just hope respect for the wildlife remains and Gburg etc never lose their way. I’m unsure if I’d have the guts to get close to a bear, but so beautiful!

I was hungover in Mammoth, California up in the hills next to a lake. I decided to take a nap on the ground in the sun. Some lady woke me up and said you might want to move back. A mother bear and a cub we’re making a round by the lake and did not give a frick. They just walked in and around the camps and then off to the forrest.

Yes many times before. Most recent was during a summer night in telluride. I was hanging out in the hot tub late at night when I hear a big boom. Sure enough a big ole black bear knocked a trash can over.

Me, never. My sister has bears walking across her yard regularly in spring and summer in the mountains near Asheville, NC. My daughter occasionally sees bears where she lives in the mountains near Winchester, VA.

Yes, I see them (black bears) fairly often. Concordia Parish, Louisiana has quite a few now. Ask anyone who lives or has a camp there.

2 black bears walking together. Redlands WMA. Georgia. I was hiking along the trail by the Apalachee River right by the Trimble Bridge ruins and they came running up out of the river and scared the shite out of me.

Also saw a dead one on the side of Hwy316 between ATL and Athens. No, it was not a trash bag ;) And it just so happened to be right around where the highway crosses the Apalachee, but about 40 miles upstream of my hiking encounter. I guess they use the river as their own highway.

Yes. Numerous times. In Gatlinburg and Alaska.

One time in the Yukon Territory we couldn't get off the bus at the train station because there was a bear in the parking lot.
