re: Who's more famous at their peak Michael Jordan or Lionel Messi?
Posted by LSUBFA83 on 7/16/26 at 4:03 pm to FlyingTigerBo
Famous people of past decades were more well known than famous people of today. Back then there was no social media and everyone watched the same few tv shows or news programs. Now everyone is streaming or subscribed to only the entertainment they choose from a narrow field of their likes/dislikes.

Definitely the spider.
re: Two 48-year-old NOLA residents arrested in Larose Snowball Trailer Theft

They actually look kind of normal to me...other than the fact they were driving a big brightly colored snowball trailer.
Waffle House should send menus to all the coaches. Would make an awesome advertisement.
If someone says L A out loud everyone, including folks in Louisiana, know that means Los Angeles. It's when print journalists write LA instead of L.A. that ticks me off. I've even had some idiot on the phone try to confirm my address as "Baton Rouge, Los Angeles."
You wouldn't rather put in a walk-in shower that could do double duty as a dog bath?

Yeah, despite her protests she looks like she's been involved in some squeezin' over the years.

re: Shoes off in the house ?
Posted by LSUBFA83 on 7/13/26 at 12:41 pm to Tiger in the Sticks
We keep shoes on in the house but not on the furniture. I go in and out my house too many times in a day to worry about shoes on/off. We have mats at all the doors and use them. How do you shoes off people do things like making multiple trips to carry in groceries? Grab a quick water or take a pee break while doing yardwork? Deal with kids running in and out the house?
re: Vietnam Vets: How are you doing today?
Posted by LSUBFA83 on 7/11/26 at 12:04 pm to ScubaTiger
My Dad was in the Air Force and flew forward air control in Vietnam 1967-68. If he was still alive he'd be 92 today.

I'm gonna be rocking my Charlie Kirk FREEDOM tshirt while I sit in a lawn chair and enjoy the fireworks in God's country. (NW Arkansas)

I've heard that a lot of these scams are really from inmates in prison. I guess that's why they're always trying to smuggle phones into jails.
It sounds like he probably shouldn't be the only one in charge of his finances anymore.
12 people were killed in a similar crash in Missouri, I think, last week. All instructors and parachutists.
Yes, I've had it and nothing sucks more. But I also think it's amazing how our bodies realize something is wrong and gang up on the intruder.

hope he doesn't have to call the coroner anytime soon.
As weird as it sounds, the parish coroner office is actually the ones that can briefly commit the person for mental health evaluation. We had to do that once for an elderly neighbor who was acting dangerously erratic and all relatives were out of state. Once the evaluation was done his family agreed to have him put in a nursing home.
Holy cow. We don't appreciate how good we have things nowadays.
This is what happens when you try to run an entire country on wind and solar power.
