You’d have to believe him to be the most unlucky man in the world
Burglars hit his neighborhood at the same time his wife was walking the dog and her pregnant self intervened while he was fishing in the body of water she was found in. Quite far from the home.
He told neighbors and her family he was golfing, not out on the water…. But last minute decided to make the 3 hour round trip to bob around for 30 minutes. With testimony saying he briefly stuck to the golf story even after returning from the water.
All this on Xmas eve, while in touch with his side piece and showing little emotion and acting bizarrely in the aftermath.
But the police set him up

Scott is guilty of murder.
The fact that she was found where he claimed to be "fishing" is quite damning enough.
Let's play along with a theory of the kidnappers decided to dump her body in the same place Scott fished in order to frame him.
If you've been able to get away with a successful kidnapping and now kill her and need to dispose of her, the last place you'd go is attempt to dump her body in the one place the investigators are already looking for her. You would just dump her somewhere in the Sierra mountains in the complete opposite direction of SF bay.

The one thing that stood out to me to this date was a video of him going to his mailbox. He grabs this big azz stack of mail and then proceeds to just toss the whole stack in his truck without looking at it and walks back in his house.
Someone commenting on one of the shows pointed out that if he didn’t already know what happened to Lacy, that he would have immediately dug through the mail to make sure there wasn’t a ransom note nor correspondence from her/her abductor in the stack of mail he picked up. To me that was VERY telling of his subconscious knowing of her demise.

How many cheating husbands go fishing the day their wife goes missing and the wife’s body just happens to be found 90 miles away exactly where he went fishing?
His affair represented not only a motive, but it also showed his statements about his wife’s imminent murder BEFORE she was murdered. What are the odds?

Telling his side piece that he’s about to have his first Christmas without his wife just weeks before she is murdered and he admits to being 90 miles away the day she was murdered in the exact location her body is found … is simply a dooshbag thing to say? And not evidence? It’s the closest thing to a confession to the woman he was banging on the side.
Do you believe he was the Nostradamus of our modern era? Just making a wildly accurate prediction of his wife’s murder weeks before she was actually murdered?
Just admit you watched a dishonest propaganda piece tailored to dullards and you fell for it. Maybe say you were drunk at the time.

These documentaries are almost always entirely smoke and mirrors. They'll dig up someone tangentially involved and a few "experts" that are more than happy to have their 15 minutes of fame to come tell half truths that they know won't be refuted by the other side so people will watch and go tell their friends that "the new documentary proves he's innocent." Nobody wants to watch a documentary on all the evidence showing he did it and the filmmakers know that.

Then there has to be forensic evidence at the house he killed her at, right? There isn't. He's not the first guy to be out Catfishing a chick and tailor it around being freshly divorced when he isn't. It's only sinister if that's all you have to go on. For Scott, he was just remarkably unlucky and stupid.

No. Being convicted of murder does not require any forensic evidence. Nor does murdering someone without being convicted. There was substantial forensic evidence against OJ and he still was not convicted. But he actually did murder 2 people.
Scotty could have gotten away with it if her body had never been found in the exact location where he was “fishing” on the day of her disappearance.

The decomposed remains of his wife, Laci Peterson, and their unborn son washed ashore roughly four months later in April 2003 along the San Francisco Bay shoreline in Richmond, California, near Point Isabel
