Question for glasses wearers

I was coerced by the attractive nurses at the eye doctor to get glasses even though I don't really need them. No blurry vision, no eye strain issues or headaches.
I get the glasses and my vision is worse, there's a tiny window where everything is in focus and zoomed in, and everything outside of it is blurry. My question is, is it worth it to have everything a little zoomed in, or am I better off wearing these situationally, like driving at night or looking at my phone? I can't return them and they were like $350.

You mean when you look through the glasses everything is clear and focused and your peripheral vision is blurry?
Yeah, that is how glasses work.
You could get larger glasses for a bigger clear area.

Just carry them around in your pocket, and when some baw wants to check his knuckles with you at the Sonic, just throw them on and say "Ya wouldn't hit a guy with glasses, would ya?" He most assuredly won't want to.

No, only a tiny part of the glasses has everything in focus, everything outside the tiny window within the lens is blurry.

You have to get used to them. I got dizzy walking around with mine at first but after a week or so they seem natural.

I had the same thing happen to me a new glass wearer. When my glasses came in, I had to look almost straight forward out of them to stay in focus. Any glance to the side with just my eyes would be out of focus. When I went back to ask about it, they told me about another lens that covers almost all of the glass with the corrective lens prescribed. Apparently the prescription on my first pair only was applied to a smaller section of the full glass. The new lens was an upgrade but it was a noticeable difference. Not saying this is your issue, but it is worth questioning them if it is an option.

You got bifocals? Or, did progressive lenses take the place of them?

What's your prescription? Near-sighted, far-sighted? Single vision or bifocals? Where did you get the glasses made? More information is needed.

I did the same thing. Except I wanted to try it myself rather than hot nurses. I ended up not wearing the glasses.
