Not to discourage you but that statement will never not be applicable no matter what you score 60's, 70's, 80's, 90's, etc.

All joking aside, congrats on the milestone....you'll be in the 80's before you know it....enjoy the journey!

I currently have Nitto Recon grapplers. This is the 2nd set of Nitto's that have shifted a belt, and they will not warranty them. I will never own Nitto again.

Man that sucks and somewhat concerning for me. I have 4 new 33x12.5x20 Recons coming in Thursday to replace my Ridge Grapplers I currently have that are the exact same size for my F-150 FX4. The Ridge Grapplers I am replacing have over 70k miles and probably could go a little longer but I'm about to start traveling for hunting season and don't want to chance it. When it came time to replace them, they have performed so well that I never even thought about another brand. I did go with the Recon vs. the RG for a little better highway performance but never was not going to go with Nitto.

If there are any Still Austin fans close to Destrehan, Cypress Lakes Country Club just got a decent barrel pick in.

Still Austin Single Barrel pick that a few other members of the club and myself picked for our member guest golf tournament last weekend. We are all very pleased with how it came out. Surprisingly sweet for a cask strength. They’re now available for purchase at the restaurant at $70 a bottle if anyone is interested!

Its like KUIU. But for the poors.

Your comment really got me thinking about how expensive both of these brands are and despite what they charge, people are lined up to buy everything they both offer. I'm guessing you were just making a joke about poors and all but it did make me curious enough to do a quick search to see which of these manufacturers were really the more expensive ones. Google AI gave me this:

"Sitka is generally more expensive than Kuiu, reflecting its focus on extreme weather durability and extensive research, while Kuiu is positioned as a premium, but somewhat more affordable, brand focused on lightweight, high-tech materials. Sitka's higher price is often attributed to its proprietary technologies and more intensive manufacturing processes.
Sitka: More expensive due to factors like proprietary Gore-Tex technologies, extensive research and development, and materials designed for extreme durability in harsh conditions.
Kuiu: Slightly less expensive while still offering high-tech, lightweight gear. It is positioned as a premium brand that provides great value for performance without reaching the highest price points. "

Have the same scope with the firedot. For me, it is probably one of the best scopes I've used or owned.
Been awhile on posting for me but this one deserved it. Wife and I spent a few days downtown Louisville for the first time ever. Had a blast. Fortunately our hotel was across the street from Old Forester so every morning shortly after opening, we’d start our day there by walking into the gift shop to see what the allocated release for the day was. Having the wife with me, one day I was able to buy two 1924’s and one day, two of these wonderful creations. This is the first year that they released a President’s Choice Rye. They had announced an available for purchase day at the distillery back on Father’s Day Weekend. I saw a video of someone there with hundreds in line. This one was unannounced that I just happen to walk in to. What a solid pour. Very deep in character and interestingly changing as it sits in the glass flavor wise.

Academy has Moultrie feeders which you can operate from your phone, I put one out this year and have been pleased so far.

I think it was $125.00 + a 6 V battery, holds 250 lbs.

Good thing is you can see that it's working

Moultrie makes good products but just know you have to pay a monthly service to be able to connect to your feeder for this feature. Not sure what the cost is but I know there is one.
Getting off the box, get to the green quicker ability, as well as chip/putt short game ability can both be argued to be an easy way to lower your score.
But by far chipping/putting short game is way easier to learn or get better at quicker. Basically, since less body parts involved, you can improve the short game quicker than driver and irons.

Ear protection for hunting suggestions

Posted by jpggpj on 8/12/25 at 2:07 pm
Looking for some guidance/recommendations on ear protection for hunting. Not over the ear (too hot), but an ear plug design. One that does well with amplifying natural sounds directionally while auto protecting from the higher decibel noises (gun shot). Blue-tooth capable would be a plus as well.
I've used them many times. They do have very good prices online but after shipping fees it gets very close to what the local stores have them for.
Depending on sweat factor, after 1-5 rounds, get home go to sink and run warm water on it, hit it with some Dawn liquid soap while rubbing it with a soft sponge/brush, then let air dry.

Trailer light troubleshooting is the worst. I came across this a few weeks ago. I don't know anyone who has them or anyone that has used them but in theory they seem like a game changer. Magnetic, wireless brake lights. Would love to hear feedback if anyone has any experience with them. The link attached is just for reference to a product on Amazon but there are multiple versions out there. The logic seems solid if you have the right trailer for application. Definitely would end the whole wire troubleshooting issue.

I'd say depending on what the charge is during this time. If it's anything north of $65 (and I'm sure it is), I'd pass.

re: Sharks while wade fishing

Back in the day we surf fished alot and used a small inflatable boat (something a 7 y/o could sit in and float) tied to us and placed an ice chest in it. Putting the fish in the ice chest wasn't as easy as dropping it in the basket but our fish loss number to sharks was 0.
Ticketmaster was crazy mark up. Don’t know. Paid $50 and some change for 2 tickets. Got there around 3.
