The league has been around over 70 years and it took SGA to be the first guy to think about a way to minimize his own injury risk.

Wrong again:

quote:

"It was something I learned during my rehab when I was going through the foot injury, when I was trying to find ways to limit the impact on my body in 2014," Embiid told ESPN.

“I was told that every time I feel like I'm in a situation where it's going to be some type of extreme [weight] on my leg, I've got to dive or just roll onto the floor. So that's why I do it."
Hoping Arkansas can finally get past the supers. Seems like we host every year.

This is clearly a lie.

Why do y’all say it?

I’m begging y’all to educate yourselves.

quote:

Sliding or rolling after contact spreads the force across motion rather than forcing joints to absorb a hard vertical impact all at once. Players who brace awkwardly during contact are more prone to ankle rolls, knee twists, wrist injuries, and hyperextension injuries.

The idea is that Gilgeous-Alexander does not always fall because the contact is devastating. Sometimes, he may be choosing the safer landing instead of fighting physics in midair. While the visual frustrates opposing fans, the approach could help protect his ankles, knees and lower back over a long season.

How come SGA never falls in pick-up games?

The Spurs are trying to injure him by getting under his feet when he shoots. He's been falling away so he doesn't step on their feet. It's easy to spot if you look for it. His basketball IQ is on another level.

more stupid than unreasonable

The Nerd Sesh guy thinks you guys are actually insane. That would explain a lot, like rooting for Dillon Brooks and Austin Reaves while calling OKC dirty floppers.

So gtfo with your it's what all haters door just those who are pulling for the Spurs argument. I'm not either one of those.

Got it. I'm sorry I included you with everyone else. I now see that you have a unique, nuanced opinion. Have a good weekend, love you.

Convincing argument.

Did you notice how the game thread for Knicks/Cavs was 2 pages and the game thread for Spurs/Thunder is 13?

You think that's because OKC fans are being unreasonable? There's like 5 of us. Y'all are the ones bitching constantly and running those numbers up. You're rooting for our players to get injured, but we're the bad guys for rooting for our team.
quote:

You don’t think it’s more likely that it just plain sucks and you are biased towards your own team?

The explanation is that OKC has the best record in the NBA for two straight years, they're the defending champs, and have a back to back MVP.

That's literally it. OKC fans are doing the same thing all fans do, and haters are doing the same thing all haters do. They're rooting for the underdog. It's not some new phenomenon.

How can you watch the clip below and your takeaway is that this guy sucks and OKC fans are crazy for defending him? Do your eyes work?

The one thing that baffles me to this day is why OKC fans get so triggered when someone says something bad about their team. I'll never understand it, but it's like clockwork.

First time on a sports message board?

You’d think with a name like More Sports Board, it would attract more people that actually watch and like sports. Maybe there’s a Bravo board you could post on, that’s more your vibe.

SGA sucks lol

He said this in a game where SGA got 30 btw.

Uh…yeah

It’s intentional to avoid injury, not to draw a phantom foul. I guess you just don’t get it. It’s ok, not everyone is a big sports guy.
quote:

But it's the constant, non stop flopping from Shai

It’s intentional, he’s falling a certain way to avoid injury. He’s very conscious of it.

Look at the play last night when Vickie dove at his legs. He gets his right foot parallel to the floor right before impact so it didn’t get rolled over. It’s another level of attention to detail that most people don’t recognize or understand.
quote:

Just have to hope he slightly twists an ankle enough that he can’t play for a few days.

People like this think they’re the good guys by the way.

quote:

He has the balance skills of a drunk.

On the contrary, he does it intentionally to avoid injury.
Obviously glad we won but unfortunately I don’t see us beating them three more times. Several of our bench guys who played great during the regular season are playoff droppers. Offensively we look so out of sorts compared to the first two series.

JDub hurting his hammy for the fourth time this year is the kicker. Needed him big time. I just don’t see it against this Spurs team with Vickie getting whatever he wants on both ends.

easier on the knees.

This is a disproven myth. Runners still believe it though, putting themselves in danger for no reason.
quote:

If he played the way he plays now back in those days, like I said, he'd be on his arse most of the game.

Nah he’d average 40 a night. The game is a lot faster and more athletic today.
