1) Do you consume caffeine on a regular basis?-a 32oz cup of coffee Mon-Friday, none on weekends

Like others have said, this is wayyyyyy too much. I would have to guess that you drink a good bit too. Just speaking from past experience, but going a few days without drinking will make you feel like a brand new man. It also helps your psyche.

yes I had one at about your age. Mine was triggeed by reflux.

I also had what I thought was a heart attack one time - even took a trip to the Emergency room in an ambulance (even though the medics determined I as not having a heart attack. Ended up being gall stone attack that resulted in my having my gall bladder removed about a week later.

Lots of good advice in this thread. I had similar issues at your age. I think strong sativa strains set it off.

For me, I find that I can't take overstimulation. Things like your typical 24 hour news scroll or espn scroll are an overload of information. I avoid them completely now. Your brain needs a rest. Do you spend anytime in silence with your thoughts or in prayer?

-Regular exercise
-Quiet time
-eliminate stimulants
-do something worthwhile (a new hobby, learn something you've been putting off, a new skill, something new to focus your mind on)

Welp. There ya go.

Men with good diets, going to the gym daily and sleeping do not have many physical or mental issues. This is something you have complete control over.

I used to have one of those every two weeks. I'm down to once every two months after some therapy.

Buckle up, ride them out, and hope it doesn't happen in the office.

If you remember everything you did not have a seizure.

People usually sleep after a seizure. They also act erratic after a seizure which could be confused with a seizure. But again you wouldn’t have a memory of that.

40 is a bitch. You are creeping up on it. shite always starts or comes back up with late 30’s. Sadly alcohol can work in those situations. ONLY one though. Anymore and you risk a hangover which is another level with a panic attack.

Yep. Going too hard on the weekend is basically guaranteed anxiety on Monday for me.

I try to steer clear during the week and try not to go too hard/stay up too late on weekends.

YouTube - Dr. Harry Barry

Great place to start - watch entire video if possible. Doctor in Europe who has dedicated much of his career to cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT). This is a type of therapy that is independent of medication or is used in conjunction.

His guide to overcoming panic attacks for good has been extremely helpful.

Hope it helps

You need to cut your coffee back big time. And none after lunch.

Start exercising. Even if it is something small like walking. Get plenty of sunshine. I would even take a vitamin D supplement. Go get an annual check up with a GP and even take a look at your bloodwork.

Start eating a lot less carbs and junk food.

I would also add, start telling people No and stop making promises you won't keep.

Get off social media. Put the phone down before bed and pick up a good book.

Limit your alcohol. Or cut it out all together.

Does Xanax really help with anxiety? Seems like that’d be playing with fire. That’s what I don’t understand about doctors willingness to just write prescriptions for all of these pills.

It will help stave off a panic attack if you feel one coming on. Like someone else said above, it's like a "break glass in case of emergency" measure.

The first time I did a Delta-8 edible I felt that way. Didn't want to upset anyone else, so I just lay down on my bed and relaxed.

Before I had to have a quadruple bypass, I got pretty freaked out over chest pains, but I was able to relax, once I laid down on the bed.

I've heard breathing into a paper bag will help settle you down (do we still have those anywhere other than fast food places?).

I woke up in the middle of the night a few times feeling like I was having a heart attack. Chest tight, hard to take deep breaths, couldn't make it stop. Turns out, it was my gal bladder. Have your doctor check your gal bladder.

I got to where I would have them years ago. Went to psychiatrist and she prescribed Trazadone, which is classed as a anti-depressant but the side effect was it made me sleep and wasn't habit forming. My attack mostly happened at night. She also prescribed xanax and Inderal in case I had one. I deal blocks the release of adrenaline basically. After about 6 months, I was good. It's all in your mind. The medication helped. I had them so bad I'd walk up 10 flights of stairs instead of use a elevator. I'm good now.

Cut out your caffeine for a while and have your mercury levels checked (urine for metallic, blood for methyl - we all have a little mercury in our system, a little too much can cause what feels like panic attacks).
